PS avatars

I'll post avatars under this topic.
Here's my first test (too big filesize for an avatar...).
PSIV Sandworm (this is for you, Danny).

I'll try to optimize every avatar to max 110 px in W or H and as small in filesize as possible.
This first was mainly a test.

Use if you like. :) And ask for any. ;)

Well I knew this was hard. In the sandworm animation there's a lot of pixels changing in each frame, so I had to reduce colors to keep the filesize small.

256 colors

13 colors

Smaller dimensions might produce better quality.
Anyway that latter image is under 12kb. :)

Here's also King Rappy under 12kb with 32 colors:

Remember to check old PS Cave avatars too.
I saw some error on my methods, so some of the images may be (and are) larger than supposed. So they won't be accepted as avatars. :| I'll fix them later.

Here's my new avatar for now. I need to create a new one (I lost my old one with the data loss).

Personally, I would like the avatar dimensions and size to be relaxed a bit. Mostly the size. With many images, when they are cropped, they are bigger than 11 kB.

Hey, thanks Zucca! Those look pretty cool. From what I can tell, you redused the sharpness on the original images and used somewhat more smooth graphics. It looks very nice indeed. :)

I've had my avatar and signature the same for a very long time so I can't bare to give Hahn or my sandworm the boot. Usally on forums, once I decide on a good profile display, I keep it as it is.

Those images would look great in a PS fan game though. Too bad the rpgmakers don't support animated monsters nor their attacks. Unless you were to make a custom battle system, but that's pretty hard. Especially if you were to make it as close as possible to PSII or PSIV. I would be interested in trying once I finish with the game I'm working on.
Run for your lives! It's the huge sandworm that never reaches you!

I originally made those for a fan game. I created those animations from pngs that I have here... heaps of pngs. All smoothed. :)

I haven't tested these, but the dimensions are ok and size too. Report if you find one/some not accepted as avatar.
