Next round of screens from in game.

A basic town part 1, it's a Phantasy Star 2 Chipset I've been editing, I've still got a good amount of work left to do on the chipset itself but heres an early screen.

A second shot, if you played PS1 you know of the exits that are in most towns, its part of the samechipset, I need to do some overall work on it but hows it look in contrast to the PS2 area?

Another Screen, a small park like area in the town.

This is a world map screen of motavia, the desert planet, yes its part green but theres a very good reason for that. (should remind people of PS2), the screen shows a PS2 town icon along with a cave entrance, mountions, and normal grassy area's from PS1, overall I thought it blended very well.

Another screen shot of the world, showing a village, a PS2 Forest like area and a temple.

Final Screen, showing a forest town, in the an area around several forests, you can see a lighter tree picture in the screen, that would be the entrance to going though the forest once its made. Theres another one (not shown) that would be an entrance to connet the two, again once this forest would be made.
----------
As for regular updates I've finished the intro of the game itself, and the first very easy dungon to get you started with the game, its a small maze like forest where you can pick up a piece of equipment, an item and a very small amount of money. (no exp, monsters are two easy, this is just used to get though the basics of the game so you understand the basic gameplay.)
I'm still working on fixing the PS2town chipset it does have some errors, I decided to mess with the signs a little bit for items, weapons, and armor XD Like? Dislike? What?
[Edit by gm2987 on [TIME]1121833524[/TIME]]

[Edit by gm2987 on [TIME]1121833561[/TIME]]

You might want to edit the forests on the maps too..
They don't look like they belong. They look painted on. There should be more space between the trees, not a green spot.
It should blend together a lil more

Yeah Khyron's right, though it looks good so far.
I'am curious, what kind of system are you using? custom battle, own triggers? or the built in systems for rpgmaker?

RPGmaker2000, defult system, I'm not a programmer period so I don't think I could really work on anything customly.
I've debated changing the tree's, right now I'm trying to see if I can blend in a normal green landscape (like the normal area is) and blend it with the background of the tree's its somewhat easyer said then done though.

Right now I need some help though, those who have played PS2/PS4 will remember the two setup interfaces for shop like systems, I'm trying to decide between the two right now, below are some screens chose which one you rather have (I don't care that much honestly but I'm having a really hard time deciding between the two)

A PS2 like interface without changing screens, obviously this is a hospital set up.

A PS4 interface, instead of the one above you would teleport to this map and then talk to the person behind the counter to bring up the menu. It would end in the same way but its just a matter of what people tend to prefer really.
This would be for all weapon/armor/item/shops in general useage and not just a hospital/inn set up.

The first setup, with the question..
You should pop up a portrait and do it that way. Same way PS 2 and 3 do.

Something like this?
Image
I would need to recenter it to make it look better but you get the idea right? It's not bad but I might just want to use a faceset instead, it would be easier and It's a large pain in the ass to center pictures >.>

Why don't you just.. make a seperate screen like in PS 2?
That way you go there, it pops up in glorious full screen, and you see a background and such.
I'm sure you've played ps 2, so you can see what I mean.
Ps 3 does it kinda too.
That would make alot of phans happy.
The method you showed is alright too.

I would go with the second one. Its more realistic if you walk into the building then just having a box pop up. I think that would be better.

For the forest to have the same background as the tile it is on, take the dropper and click it on the pink square (or whatever makes the BG transparent) then paint it over the areas you dont want to be there.
Also you should concider downloading the font patch, this will space the letters and numbers more evenly. If you dont know where to get it try www.rpg2knet.com

Haven't worked with rpgmaker in a long time. Under my productive periods I could do most of the advanced programming and came up with some cool games :D If I get some sparetime, I'am gonna try doing some new projects for it, so I will be willing to help you out. Though don't remember much of it at this moment.

That patch would help, I had it before but I had to re-install RPG2k so it was deleted, and that site didn't have it, anyone know where I can get it?
