Man, I've been looking for this game for a long while... then yesterday, all of a sudden, a guy from a blog I had never heard about just posted it!

Now please, please just tell me what's the best way to run this beast! I've tried an application called mipd2exe that creates an exe file out of the jar file, but even though I can play it, the screen is cut in about half. The same happens on my cell phone. Do you guys know of a better way to run this game?

Wow this is awesome. Let me see if I can find a way to run it.

I have moved this to the PS News, thanks Orakio Rob!

I think you could play it on PC using this: http://www.microemu.org

EDIT: Gameplay video (poor quality)
EDIT2: There's no J2ME package for N900 by default, so I won't be able to play it straight, unless I do some serious tweaking.
If some one of you succeed in running microemu, please post here (I haven't even tried it). :)

The online version of this java emulator runs the game with proper screen resolution, although there is no sound:

Hey, that's my video! (And oddly enough, it's my only video on YouTube.) :)

I took that video with the webcam on my laptop, which wasn't able to focus on it for some reason. I've got a new video camera now, so if anybody's interested, maybe I can take some new shots of the game. That is, if I can find my old cell phone...

ETA: I found my old phone, and I managed to copy the game data to my computer. The game is stored as a collection of .HUF files (Huffman compressed), and from what I can tell, there's no utility out there to extract them. I might at least be able to make another gameplay video or two. Note that I have the Japanese version of the game.

Heck I'm interested to see other screen capture, this seems interesting!

In the meantime, Fringes of Algo has made a list of differences. They're anything but minor. While I wouldn't say this remake is a disaster, it's not too far off. The only positive change is the new graphics.

That's why I love PSCave... a day or two after posting about the Deluxe rom here I posted about it on Fringes of Algo DB too. My topic was deleted because I was talking about roms etc... and then, all of a sudden, there is a new section on PS Deluxe on their website.

I just can't stand this kind of thing. I understand the reason why the topic was closed, they are afraid of legal problems, that's fine. But if they went ahead, downloaded the ROM and even talked about the game on their website (as if they had all of a sudden managed to get the original game running on a japanese cellphone), they could at least have emailed me saying "thank you".

My bad here, folks: I've just been contacted by Thoul, from the Fringes Board, and he pointed me to a thread that explained why my thread was deleted and crediting me for finding the ROM. Having received an email notification stating that my topic had been deleted with no further explanation, and seeing the updated PS Mobile without any mention to the ROM, I've jumped the gun. So, I'm sorry
