It is if you look how Dark Force's origins and true purpose are revealed in PSIV. Everything happened in 3 became standalone because PSIV's plot retconned this shit. They used the wreckage as a homage to PSIII but everything else in the story is inconsistent with 4.
Why would Dark Force go on a rampage and destroy each ship? Its purpose was to weaken the planetary seal by confounding both native and immigrant alike with promises of power and dominion.
Please tell me how it retconned, because I just can't see how. Giving it some thought, maybe each Dark Force wasn't completely dependent on The Profound, Dark Big Boobs. Maaaaybe, just maybe, each DF could act as an independent entity and live or something. However, once the short blonde kid people dislike for some reason killed the Big Boobs, then that was it. No more Dark Forces. Still, if one was still alive, it was sort of doomed to a life of solitude.
Regarding the seal, yeah. I agree on weakening the seal by corrupting and stuff. Still, by PSIV's era, there still were people of each race willing to risk their asses in order to beat it. As for the worldships, with the loss of most of the other ships, one could hypothesize that there were more than one DF loose, but that's farting a stinky one and smelling it (i.e: Really far out). In the DF on board the Alisa III, I could hypothesize that having been sealed by using Orakio's sword in that underwater temple one thousand years ago, roughly in PSIV's era, that DF could have been weakened by the loss of his Dark, Large Mammary Equipped Mother, and so took another millenium to resurface. Still, when he did (I've always seen DF as a male, heh), there was no more chance to respawn, or have another sibling sent, since there was no Dark Breasted Big Bad anymore.
Does that make sense?
