How we got here:

Rika defeated Gwyn (5-0), Ryan (4-0), Raja (2-0), and Rolf (3-1).

Alis defeated Nial (5-0), Rune (3-0), Anna (3-0), and Rudo (3-1).

Both are extremely central to their respective games - Alis moreso than Rika, of course, but Rika is still extremely central to Phantasy Star IV. It's somewhat fitting that these two are squaring off, as they are arguably the strongest female characters in the series despite Rika not being a "main character" like Alis, Rolf, or Rhys.

Both are hard hitting, both use healing and utility spells. Their backgrounds could not be more different, of course.

Alis would be a very heavy hitter if she was in PS4. I would say she would be the equal of Chaz.

So she wins over Rika who is great and an auto selection in most parties.

Alis winning would be quite fitting.

I thought we were headed for 1 vs 2 before the semifinals. Outside of Anna defeating Sari, there were very few surprises.

As powerful and useful as Rika is, if she were to be missing, the PSIV cast would still kick ass. The PSI cast without Alis, not so much.
