Finding Monsters in PS1

Hey there. I'm new to this forum, but not new to PS1. I discovered PS1 in 1989. I camped out at my friend's apartment for hours, hogging his Sega Master System. He got arrested for shoplifting and asked me to post bail for him. He offered the SMS as collateral. Then he skipped town, and I got to finish my game with my newly acquired SMS.

I've been playing PS1 again on the Switch. I'm almost done with the game for the umpteenth time. I love the bestiary that's built into the game. I'm at 87% complete, so I've shut off Ages Mode to boost the random encounter rate. But I'm having a hard time finding Leeches. I know they're on Motavia, but where? Anybody recall?

I can't remember where do the Leeches appear, but why'd you need to find them?
Was there something special about them?

Leeches are on Motavia from what I've read online. I'm trying to complete my Monster Guide before I polish off Lassic. I've got
̶L̶e̶e̶c̶h̶e̶r̶
Executer
̶T̶e̶n̶t̶a̶c̶l̶e̶ ̶
Giant

left to find. The others (Shadow, Gold Dragon, Lassic, and DarkFalz) will be found on my way to the end of the game. Any tips on where to find these first four? I'm thinking they are limited to an area the way Marman are limited to that one lava lake on Palma. It's weird how I haven't encountered these monsters this time. I've encountered them countless times before in other run throughs.

I found the Leecher deep in the mountains. That took forever. The Tentacle was much easier, hanging out in the lava above Baya Malay Tower. Now I'm on to Executer, who is (according to http://www.pscave.com/ps1/enemies/) somewhere on Dezoris. The Giant "Lives on Palma and in the Air Castle." I'd like to find it before heading to the Air Castle. I can't imagine wandering around the Air Castle getting into tons of random battles will help me in the end battle.

If anybody could toss me a bone where they specifically remember finding Executer or Giant, that would be awesome.

Giant found in a patch of grass to the East of Abion. Now I just need Executer somewhere on Dezoris, but I'm taking a break.

The one that I almost never saw until actually looking for it was the Elephant. Anyway, I'm going to add a link that may help you.

You'll have to kind of use trial and error to pinpoint these locations, but it'll nonetheless tell you exactly where to find each enemy and the probability of encountering them there.

I don't think I've ever not run into several Leeches on the way to Maharu (Lutz) cave, for what it's worth.

If you still haven't found the enemies, let me know, and I'll show you the exact locations where they can appear.

What a fantastic list! I'm bookmarking it for later use. I *know* I'll play the game again someday. ;)

I managed to find all the beasties for a 100% complete monster guide. I've played PS1 on the SMS or via ROMs, so this was the first time playing a Sega Ages version. I probably didn't encounter these particular four because I had Ages mode engaged, which boosts exp and reduces random encounters. Once I shut that mode off and went exploring, I found what I needed. Thanks!
