Phantasy Star spell / skill names and translations

Hey there :)

I had a discussion on Twitter today where we talked about the names of spells, skills and items in the Phantasy Star series and someone told me that the spell names are just words from other languages that have been mistranslated in the original games. There was a fan translation of Phantasy Star Generations 2 made by people who also around here, I have heard. And this translation was one of the first ones to use the correct translations.

I have a little website on my own, and I thought it would be cool to compile a list of all the original spell / skill / item names and then write down their correct translation and meaning, like フォイエ meaning german "Feuer" but was translated to "Foi". I found this pretty interesting.

Maybe someone can tell me if there is already such a list available in the web?

Thanks a lot for reading, and maybe someone can enlighten me! :)

The Phantasy Star wiki has a few etymologies in the individual pages for some of the techniques:
https://phantasystar.fandom.com/wiki/Te ... sy_Star_II

I also have a website for the Phantasy Star II script, and I have a list of the correct item names:
https://phantasystariijapanesescript.wo ... /15/items/

We had a go at the techniques, but couldn't do better than transliterating the katakana.
