Phantasy Star II Generations Freezing on real hardware

Hi everyone!

I recently started playing Generations II on my original Playstation 2 (unmodded, but using a Free Mcboot MX4SIO to play the burnt disc), and have noticed that the game will sometimes freeze up at the end of a random encounter, on the screen where it is awarding experience, meseta, etc. I'm using beta version .8 and came across some threads here about this bug being worked on, etc. I was wondering if this ever got corrected in an update of Generations II, and if so, where can it be found at?
