You people got the wrong end of the stick, just like I feared...

Lemme get this straight...
The aim of these type of games is to impress your girl or whatever, so he/she will be interested in having sex with you, correct?

Some bishoujo games are like that. But it's not necessarily for sex. Most of the time you play a young man who goes to school and meets girls, and is searching for love.

I have a question Benoit, are this PC only games

Yes.

Did you also post Brave soul awhile back? just curious.

A half year ago, yes.

OH MY GOODNESS...
People from all ages visit these forums, for Pete's sake! I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's inappropiate for you to advertise that here. We should be trying to keep these boards clean, NOT trying to attract dirt...

Anything that has sex is dirty? You may want to rethink that opinion...
I did put a warning on the link. The page it links to even puts up another warning.

Yeah... those games seem stupid to me. So gratuitous. In Brave Soul, you get sexual favors for saving women... that just seems a bit seedy to me.

So you believed the crap that HuBBs told us back then? I'm disappointed in you. It's bullshit. Brave Soul is nothing like that.
In Brave Soul you play a young man who has been kicked out from home so he would try to be someone. His little dragon, Shell, accompanies him. After four trials, he becomes a hunter at the Hunter's Guild. From that point on, you can take missions to earn money, which will allow you to buy more powerful equipment. You will meet women on the way, and you can let them accompany you on your quest. At the end of each mission, there will be a choice you have to make. Depending on your choice, the girls' feelings towards you will grow. Like Love Points. Each time you have enough Love Points, you'll trigger an event when you talk to her when staying at the Inn (no, not a sex scene). Your relationship with the girl will grow during these events, and eventually you will fall in love.
It's an action-RPG that resembles Diablo, in a medieval settting.

I mean, come on... it seems kind of pathetic that some people buy these games, not for the gameplay, but for the gratuitous shots and such.

Not all games are sexfests. Most of G-Collections are, though, which is sad.
I'm interested in the games that have an interesting and engrossing story to them, like Figures of Happiness.
There are even bishoujo games that NOT ADULT. Like Princess Maker 2. Great game. ^_^ In it, you receive a daughter from the heavens, and you have to raise her. This implies making her shedule for the month, and such.

I've never heard of a Bishoujo game that wins out because of gameplay, you know, and that speaks volumes.

Of course you haven't, as I can tell by your post how ignorant you are about them. :@ Many bishoujo games are ADVs, but there are also simulations, RPGs, shooters, etc. Most of those other genres have excellent gameplay.
In the West, bishoujo games are still a niche market, so the games we see translated are only a tiny portion of Japan's bishoujo games. And because the genre is so low-profile here, many of the games we get aren't that great. The licenses for good, popular games cost a lot of money, and 99% of the time the companies don't even want to allow their games to be translated.
---
I was hoping that people here would be more mature and wouldn't call out idiocy like "SEX IS EVIL!", which is what most people who cling too much to their (christian) religion do. Like HuBBs.
:@
