Team Dark's story was meant to be the most challenging. The order in which I played through was Rose, Chaotix, Sonic and Dark. Where I currently stand, I remain a mere few stages shy of completing Team Dark's story. As for the Egg Emperor, I found him to be more of an annoyance than anything, really.

[Edit by Mizehrith on [TIME]1077128926[/TIME]]

I spend like 40 lives on him with Chaotix, like 6 with Team Sonic and 13 with Team Dark.
I just want to put my 2 cents in on Sonic Heroes. I've rented the X-Box version and it was fun. I still like the Sonic Adventure titles when you just play with a single character, but it was still fun. (Also played demo on Gamecube at local EB.) =)

Lemme know when you get to Mecha Sonic. I saw him in the opening demo movie. If the battle is really hard but awesome, I might conisder it.

I finally got past the Robot Storm boss battle. The platform I was always stuck on turned out to be the last one, after I performed a Team Blast to take care of it. :D
I got a B rating, too. W00T!
I'm now at the second stage of the sixth zone.
HuBBs, even if the teams are more or less the same to you, Sonic Heroes is still a great fun game, which you should buy not only for that reason, but also to support Sega. :)

HuBBs, even if the teams are more or less the same to you, Sonic Heroes is still a great fun game, which you should buy not only for that reason, but also to support Sega.

Support Sega? They don't need support! Plus, supporting a company that develops your favorite game is alright, but that reason in itself isn't enough to buy a game. Furthermore, buying a Sonic game won't ensure that other PS games are made, just that more Sonic games are made...unless you're not getting at that.
You guy's are gonna hate me for this next part...
I won't buy any Sonic games nowadays because I find them to be repetitive and hastily made...let's be honest, they churn these games out WAY too fast...escpecially with the sloppy ideas like the ones Sonic Heroes implements...Sega doesn't even attempt at making the games innovative. Adding more players to gameplay doesn't innovate a game...Sonic Heroes is basically the same as all the other games. And to add to my building frusteration with Sonic, and Sega, they INSIST on cramming these new, crappy characters down our throats (Cream the Rabbit? What the hell is that?). What happened to Sonic to make them downplay good ol' Tail and Knuckles? Also, the boss battles are just as predictable as always.
I'm not denying that Sonic Heroes is a fun game, albeit predictable, but I wish Sega would put more effort into the Sonic games...I think they deserve more then that...
This is just my opinion...and I mean no offense to anybody who plays the game. Basically, what I'm saying is that Sonic Heroes delivers what all Sonic games promise-fast paced action-but it delivers few new ideas to the series...and I was disappointed...
...I may be the only one who feels this way, but that's fine...
*Warla!* Now go ahead and get hopping mad! Your projectiles will do little! :p

[Edit by LaconianShot on [TIME]1078627502[/TIME]]

Support Sega? They don't need support!

WTF? Where have you been the last years? Sega does need support! They still have lots of debts to pay, and they need to sell more games in order to make reasonable profit.

Furthermore, buying a Sonic game won't ensure that other PS games are made, just that more Sonic games are made...unless you're not getting at that.

If Sega sells many games, they will have the funds to make other innovative games, not just Sonic games.

I won't buy any Sonic games nowadays because I find them to be repetitive and hastily made...let's be honest, they churn these games out WAY too fast...

Way too fast? The last home console Sonic released was Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast, back in 2001. Now we're 2004... you call that fast?
The Sonic games they have been publishing for the last years are just ports of already existing Sonic games. Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Mega Collection...

escpecially with the sloppy ideas like the ones Sonic Heroes implements...Sega doesn't even attempt at making the games innovative. Adding more players to gameplay doesn't innovate a game...Sonic Heroes is basically the same as all the other games.

Are we still talking about the same game?
You mean the Team system isn't innovative? Why not? In which other platform game did you control three characters at once, who each have different skills? Seriously, dude...

And to add to my building frusteration with Sonic, and Sega, they INSIST on cramming these new, crappy characters down our throats (Cream the Rabbit? What the hell is that?). What happened to Sonic to make them downplay good ol' Tail and Knuckles?

I'll agree with you about Cream, but... what's wrong with Shadow, Rouge and E-10000(spelling?)? Especially Shadow...

Also, the boss battles are just as predictable as always.

That's not true. You have to use your team strenghts to beat the boss. Also, it's not just Robotnik in a giant ship. You battle against other teams too, and against tons of robots.
Believe me, it's not easy, and if it was predictable, it would be.
I'm wondering if you even seriously gave the game a chance.

WTF? Where have you been the last years? Sega does need support! They still have lots of debts to pay, and they need to sell more games in order to make reasonable profit.

They are still a mulitmillion dollar company...and nearly every company has debts...just because the DC goes under doesn't mean that their not doing well. And Sega has always gained money on games...I haven't heard of one game that didn't make enough to cover production, let alone make profit.

Are we still talking about the same game?
You mean the Team system isn't innovative? Why not? In which other platform game did you control three characters at once, who each have different skills? Seriously, dude...

No, the team system isn't really that innovative...stuff like that has been done before. Each have different skills? Why would they have the same ones?

That's not true. You have to use your team strenghts to beat the boss. Also, it's not just Robotnik in a giant ship. How about this: Egg Hawk and Egg Albatross...and some how they both involve running around the course enough to power up your team blast to destroy yet another of Robotnik's robot/planes...I sure didn't see that coming! And "tons of robots"? That's not innovative boss battles, (well...maybe Robot Carnival was...) it's battling a bunch of robots, which seems to be a reoccering theme in Sonic.
You seem to think that I hate Sonic...which is untrue. I merely presented my opinion that Sega needs to do better with these games. In your opinion, Sonic Heroes is a great game. In my opinion, it needs some work. I doubt that you see my prespective on this, and I also doubt that I see yours. This is merely an opinion...surely I can state that.

They hardly made profit in the Dreamcast days, and were already millions in debt when the Saturn went down. They got money from CSK(spelling?) and they could finance the Dreamcast with that. But not enough systems got sold, and if they were going to keep supporting the Dreamcast, they would have gone bankrupt, which is why they pulled out of console manufacturing market, and went third-party to save themselves. I'm sure HuBBs can give way more information on this.

No, the team system isn't really that innovative...stuff like that has been done before. Each have different skills? Why would they have the same ones?

Tell me where it has been done before then.
Why they would have the same skills? Well, look at the old Sonic games. Every character played more or less the same, apart from 1 (albeit cool) ability.
This time around they are more distinct in their skills.

Hmmm...not predictable? It's not easy, either.

You seem to think that I hate Sonic...which is untrue.

I'm not implying that at all.

I merely presented my opinion that Sega needs to do better with these games. There are tons of things in this game that haven't been done before in Sonic games. And it's fun. What more could you ask?

All i know is, that I do not see myself buying any other sonic games in the future besides Sonic Advance 3. Sonic should stay 2D. His 3D adventures have been half ass at best. They are entertaining but they glitchy camera and sudden stop deaths just make me go urk.

I agree with Hubbs...3D Sonic games aren't that great.

It's never been in a Sonic game before, so it's innovative. It's not easy, either.

What the hell are you talking about? Basically ALL of Robotnik's minions are robots! All's you do in Sonic Adventure is fight 'botnik's stupid robot minions...they're the enemies in nearly every stage!

Tell me where it has been done before then.

Well...what type of game/genre do you want? Having a team isn't exactly a new concept...
It's clear to me that you'll fight to the death to try to prove me wrong about this game. Maybe I have been too tough on it, but my opinion still stands...they could've done better.
I'm going to agree to disagree, since I can't change your opinion...which wasn't my goal to start with.

I agree with Hubbs...3D Sonic games aren't that great.

They're not as fun as the 2D games, but still fun enough. Sonic Heroes comes pretty close, if not as fun.

What the hell are you talking about? Basically ALL of Robotnik's minions are robots! All's you do in Sonic Adventure is fight 'botnik's stupid robot minions...they're the enemies in nearly every stage!

That's not what I meant. I meant that fighting dozens of robots at a time as a boss fight was never done before.

Well...what type of game/genre do you want? Having a team isn't exactly a new concept...

Having a team, no. But in the way Sonic Heroes does it, it's new. You have all three of them with you, and can play them each. I'm talking about platform games.

It's clear to me that you'll fight to the death to try to prove me wrong about this game. Maybe I have been too tough on it, but my opinion still stands...they could've done better.
I'm going to agree to disagree, since I can't change your opinion...which wasn't my goal to start with.

There isn't a way they could have done better, except for making each team a bit more unique.
You don't have to agree to disagree... But I really don't get why you're so hard on it. We have a fantastic game here that is almost as good as it gets.

But there is still some room for improvement...namely originality. And I'm not just talking about bosses/enemies/characters...I'm talking about stages.HAH! That is something you CAN'T argue with! They have basically the same types of levels as the Adventure games did (albeit, not the same gameplay inside)...the seaside one, a casino level and the ever present canyon-with-red-color-rocks! You CAN'T argue that they couldn't have been more creative there!
