I perfer original because the american dubbers always dumb it down storywise and vocally in my opinion. I hated what they did to Dragon ball Z. I shudder to think what Full Metal Alchemist is going to be reduced to once it hits the states this fall.

Yes that's true. I think the best american dubs are the ones when they are working together with the japanese studios. The dub of Ulysses 31 was excellent as it was a co production between TMS and a french/italian tv stations and a american studio called Saban.

I prefer "SubDub"... That is, English language with English subtitles.
That way, you can tell how well a company (Pioneer, ADV, Right Stuf, Software sculptors, etc.) translated the Japanese to what the company felt like the characters should be saying.... errr, how well the dubnign and subtitles lined up.

Im all abuot the DVDs that have both enabled so if im lazy, I can just watch dubbed, and if im feelin spastic, I can throw some subtitles on, and read those to mellow out.
Plus its fun to put subtitles on during the english dubbed dialogue because the text and the speech arent the same! :)

I tend to only get to see dubbed anime... ~_~
Still, I like it as you can follow all of the action without having to train your eyes to read and watch at the same time!
Although, you do get the cool sense of the original when it is in Japanese. All in all, I'm impartial.

I prefer subtitles as I'm very picky about dubbing. The only anime dubbings I have liked so far are Central Park Media's (Project A-ko's to be precise, the rest sound too cliche), Viz', and Intetrack Mexico's. All other dubbings either kill characters' personality, kill all comedy gags, or sound plain goofy.
Regarding animation dubbing in general I'll have always a special place in my heart for Buena Vista International.

[Edit by ROMeo on [TIME]1110934495[/TIME]]

There are only a few good dubbed animes out there that are really good. The translations are ok but i can't stand the fact that they use american humor dialog in anime its insulting.
That's why i love subtitles.Only ignorant people who can't read dislike subbed.
