I just wanna say this is the crappiest lodoss based movie I have ever seen. The art style while unique, sucks animation wise, sotry wise, and voice acting wise. Hell, I even fell asleep half way thru the movie cause of how boring it was. And what the hell?!?! Why does pirotess have blonde hair when she has silver hair in Lodoss?

Yeah the anime did suck. It was originally a bunch of promo stories illustrated by Urushihara (artist of Langrisser 1-5). I think it may have also been a card "magic" game, I'm not sure. The characters looked alot cooler then. (When I first heard it was going to be an anime, I thought "cool!" but then I saw the changed art and cringed....)

Crystania does suck, Movie and series wise.<p>I prefer the Lodoss war OVA series.<p>I want to download the 100 percent translated SNES Record<br>of Lodoss War and play it!<p>It covers what happens when the 6 companions defeated the evil god Falaris. IN essence Lodoss Prequel. In it you get to play as KARLA who gets to take over bodies to move on! It's so like WOW and the battle system is cool.<p>Karla, Beld, Faun, Wort, Laylia's mother..<p>Who was the 6th companion who defeated Falaris?

Fleivay (I think that's a cool romanization) was the Dwarf in the historical party versus Cardys (they fought Cardys not Faralis, that was the battle between Goddesses). They mention them all in the song during the original OVAs. <p> I played that game years ago (HARD!!). The coolest Lodoss games were the 2 for PC Engine. The Dreamcast game was fun, too. (gameplay kinda lacked but the story was really cool--I think I posted a faq on gamefaqs on that one way back)<p> BUT the BEST anime to RPG ever made was DRAGON HALF!!! (yes, they made one) HILARIOUS!! You can get Mappy as a character (or even Damaramaru in his "cyber-head" form).

No.. a scene in the OVA series specifically uses FALARIS as the god they fought. The SNES game sums up the fight like this:<p>"<br>[Prologue] Battle with Pharis<p> Fahn, Beld, Fleve, Wort, Niece and Flauss assemble before Pharis. They engage<br> in battle, striking with all their strength and casting their most powerful<br> spells, but nothing has any effect. Suddenly, Pharis casts a powerful<br> earthquake spell. Her evil sword, Soul Crusher, strikes Flauss. She falls<br> over, injured.<p> Beld runs to her side, and the sword strikes at him too. But Karla appears and<br> turns the Soul Crusher aside. Flauss dies, Beld walks to the weapon and <br> inspects it, triggering a flashback of a village with Flauss in it. I could be wrong.. Pharis could be Falis, god of light, But the story in the OVA says "God of Darkness" and the name "FALARIS"<p>Maybe that is a misinterpretation or typo from the novels?

Whoever did that game translation doesn't know squat. At the beginning of every episode of the original ovas, they show the prologue of Falis VERSUS Faralis. The 2 goddesses fight and the island of Lodoss is shattered from mainland. (you're right, Falis IS good)<br> The battle of Beld, Farn and co. takes place AFTER Lodoss has already formed. The battle there is the Earthmother Marfa (Niece's goddes) versus Cardys. (for those who can read)<p>That's why I'm always afraid of fan translations. They almost NEVER are done by people fluent in Japanese (R. Capowski's PS compendium page is one of the few well done bits I've seen).

I stick by what I said because later on falaris is referred to in the battle.<p>the battle of the companions. Not the original battle that formed Lodoss.
