Gryz's quest completed (fan game)

Postby Danny » Wed Mar 26, 2008 6:22 am

Well I said I'll remake the topic when I'm done and I am so here we are... So who shall I send it to for it to be looked over and posted at pscave when it's accepted? BenoitRen or Missagh?

I took Lord Khyron's advice from a long time ago and only presented my fan game after if was completed. I still need to do a readme and walkthrough for it but I should have that done by tomorrow. I wouldn't want anyone to miss the secrets in the game, heh. And now I sleep for this project has taken a lot out of me in the past month. Good night. <Drops dead asleep to the floor with mouse and keyboard in hand.>

Haha, thank you! I sent the game to BenoitRen. It took me two whole days to fix the bugs I found in the game! Man oh man, there was a treasure box that would take 100 meseta from you rather than giving it and a door that would either transport you to the wrong loaction or it wouldn't open. I don't know how that happened... Well it's all fixed now.

I've uploaded the game. Download Gryz' Quest. The game requires the RPG Maker Runtime Package, which I've uploaded for your convenience.

First impressions:
-The townsfolk sure like to move a lot, and fast. :)
-Man, it's hard! You can't survive a single encounter, except for one Crawler. If you always run away, you'll get beat up sooner or later when you fail to.

The only way you can survive in the beginning is if you search the drawler in Gryz's home then make a run for it to Krup to the east and grab the axe in the stump, west of town. You should be able to fight the monsters then. The monsterfly is the easist to beat followed by the crawler and miniworm on the first world map. The sand newts and locusta are very difficult to beat at level 1. I guess I'll leave the rest of the tips for the players to read in my walkthrough. Hope the game isn't too hard.

Thanks for uploading it BenoitRen!

Fantastic!

Only just started playing but i'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I like how there's a challenge right from the start and the music is great. What's the tune used when you rest at an inn?! I recognise it from a game I played when I was younger but can't place my finger on it, is it any of the BOF series?

Anyway, i'll cut this short cause I wanna get back into the game!

Well done! :)

The tuned used when sleeping at the inn is called "inn3". It's a song provided in the standard RTP provided with RPG Maker 2000. The one where you sleep at Gryz's home is "inn2". Also a standard RTP midi file. Glad you're enjoying it so far, thanks! :D

I'm trying to see how far I can get before I jump into the readme file.

Finding you in the woods was awesome! Sold the Star Mist to buy all Gryz's gear and 99monomates and i'm off to crazy level!

I think that tiger likes you.

Heh, I found Danny in the woods after reading that post. Hehe.

Selling the Star Mist? I bought the Carbon gear in Krup with my own hard-earned money! Sure makes things easier.

I'm LV 12 now. Was LV 11 before getting the Carbon gear.

Danny, how far does the game go? Is it complete? Do you wish to write a synopsis of the game and some game information to put up on the page where the download will be?
