Actually, Dark "Force" is more of an English translation thing. Dark "Falz" is more correct.

Dark Falz is Dark Force... its just a translation thing due to limited font space. (PS1)
I guess they did not want forc/fork)

Perhaps you're right. I haven't had a chance to finish PSO3 (Or PSO-BB for that matter, if that holds any relevance. I doubt it tho).

But umm... What you did say left me questioning. Maybe I'm just too tired to think it thru, but if a defeated Dark Force leaves behind a "Great Shadow" which feeds on light and eventually becomes another Dark Force... How does the Profound darkness comparison come in?

And if what you say is true, how does that make PS-PSO incompatible? the PS series was always springing up new things with each new game. Like PS4, "Hey, you know that thing that's been haunting our solar system for the past... oh... 3,000+ years? They're actually spawned from this chick who lives in a parallel dimension sealed away by it's omnipotent counterpart!" I mean, PS 1/2/3 gave no indication that that's where the PS story was headed...

With PS, you REALLY never f***ing know...

And PSO always seemed, to me, to have a painfully incomplete storyline.

It's barely relevant. The only thing it adds to the story is why Rupika is important.

Mother entity spawning Dark Forces.

Where Dark Force comes from is different.

Phantasy Star IV adding the Profound Darkness didn't contradict anything, and was a sound explanation for why Dark Force keeps coming back.

OHhhh. I get it now. So Mother is essentially PF for PSO. I do like the "Great Shadow" thing. An explanation like that would clear up that little loop hole in PS3 DF.

I must be really tired if I'm being this passive...

Anyway, what can you tell me about "Mother"?

And why the hell don't we have a PS/PSO timeline up yet?

I doubt many people would care for a PSU, but... I guess someone could put that together. I haven't played it and I doubt if I will. I wanted to, but... after seeing a lot of vids... it just really doesn't do anything for me.

Err, the MOTHER project is not the same thing as the Great Shadow.

All that can be said about the Great Shadow is that it produces Germ, a parasitic substance that is the basis for CARD Technology.

We have a Phantasy Star timeline (and a draft for a better one). But not a PSO one.

Too bad we can't get a full explanation of all those events. I doubt Sega will do anything for the original PS series, tho the success of PS0 (and as far as I know, it has been doing better than Sega anticipated, and is likely to continue that trend here in the U.S. if reservations are anything to go by) may change that.

So in PSO Dark Force becomes Great Shadow when killed. Great Shadow feeds on light for some time and finally becomes back to Dark Force.

Does someone/something mention where Dark Force(s?) came originally in PSO?

Endu's ending wrote:Mysterious Male Voice: Yes, the shockwave from that instant should have erased everything containing DF cells...
Endu: ...But something remained, right?
Mysterious Female Voice: Yes. Instantly, two things unimaginable were born. One of them was the "Great Shadow," left behind by Dark Falz. Infecting those seduced by its power, it searches for a new location to live, and after a great many years, it arises once again...

It doesn't mention it absorbing photon, but since it's found where the photon flows intersect, and weakening the photon flows weakens it, it probably does.

Ben, are you planning to add events happened during the time of games to this timeline? Ie. explosion of Palma.

No, I'm not. The timeline assumes you have played the games.
