How did Dark Force destroyed Palma by only one satellite?

Discuss anything related to the Phantasy Star series

In this particular instance, I think it would be safe to assume PS3's "Time-warp" ending would not be a plausible explanation simply because it would mean that the DF from PS3 had endured travel to earth (probably, Sega would say AFTER the "earthmen" had f***ed it for all it was worth), corrupted and guided the earthmen to Algo, likely helped them construct MotherBrain (no, I don't mean he picked up a welder and got to work. DF has always been a real lazy ass and you know it!), and launched the satellite into Palma.

While at first glance it would seem to be a sound theory, it does conflict with the 1,000 year Dark Force rule: "Every 1,000 years you get a new jackass to wreck your sh*t". This would mean there are two DF active in PS2.

Altho one could argue that DF seek destruction at any cost, yet don't interfere with the work of other DFs. This could mean that the PS3 DF is in an infinite loop of time where he assaults the Palma evacuation ships, loses to 2 of 4 possible grandchildren of Rhys, and gets to go back to earth to start it all over again.

Someone refresh my memory: when did Palma and Motavia switch orbits?

Motavia was transformed into a jewel of a planet by PSII. It was no longer a desert planet. Destroying Palma instead of the other planets doesn't seem that stupid then.

And if they switched orbits, and Palma became closer to the sun, then maybe it wasn't that much of a suitable planet for the earthmen anymore.

Someone is too lazy to look up the Compendium. :P
Compendium wrote:AW 843 - The "Conjunction", the alignment of the three planets, occurs. Due to gravitational interference, the orbits of Parma and Motabia are shifted, and cities are annihilated. Thanks to the Earthmen, the escape shuttle containing the remaining members of the ruling class is destroyed, and the Landeel bloodline appears to be wiped out.

Yeah. Mota seem a bit more fertile at the time of PSIV than at the time of PSI.
So earthmen could actually be non-corrupted.
I always have thought that earthmen were corrupted by DF. Is there any evidence to that?

I think we have to be too optimistic about human kind to assume that the earthmen were a destructive race only because of DF's influence :^P

I like that "appears to be wiped out" in the compendium. Nice little "We can't (won't) say for sure."

Perhaps a little note to anyone paying attention that they may have had plans for a PS-5. Who knows.

Regardless... All I knew about Palma's demise was what is explained in the PS games (didn't they go into it a bit in PS3?) and that was all about the satellite and the escape ships.

Are there any details on this?
