Spreading of the dark cells: Dark Falz's infection.

Rykros, as seen in PS4, was a planet seemingly covered in crystal formations that even had 3-4 tower-like structures composed (entirely?) of this crystalline substance.
Ragol, as seen in PSO (was there a planet of the same name in PSU?... I won't bother making a reply if the answer is yes. You can already guess what I'll say), was a rich, beautiful planet laced with a wide variety of geography. This is the main point on why it was chosen as the "New home" for the refugees in Pioneer 1 & 2.
I never did figure out what the big story behind PSO. I always think back to that, "Pioneer _ had a population of ______, but records indicate ration consumption at _____." which basically meant there were a lot of people on the ship who weren't supposed to be there.

Please explain to me why you think this is so.
