I've finished Breath of Fire with the good ending yesterday. It wasn't bad, but the lack of directions at times was annoying and you don't really defeat the final boss. For a 1993 JRPG, I find it lacking, though.

Today I've started Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I'm liking it so far, save for the unintuitive use of the analog stick. I'd prefer to use it to turn instead of strafe.

I started a new file in Valkyria Chronicles 2 (Japanese version, PSP) yesterday. I accidentally deleted mine when getting rid of a BUNCH of boring Macross Ultimate Frontier replay movie files a month ago, losing all my customizations and very little progress in the game. I'm expecting the US version of Valkyria 2 later this summer only to support the franchise. After the stellar first game in the PS3 and the odd setting, but definitely great gameplay of the Japanese version, this is one series I want to go on. I also recommend this series to ANYONE who has a PS3 or PSP.

Also, I really want to finish Metroid Prime 1 and then start Metroid Prime 2, which I found alongside the Genesis collection. I gave it a try and while I found it lacking in graphics as a Game Cube game, I definitely enjoyed it.

I'm also addicted to Peace Walker. Sneaking from behind enemies, knocking them out and capturing instead of killing them is definitely one of the parts I enjoy the most of this series. Semix, get it! =)

I think Metroid Prime 2's problem isn't the graphical quality, but the blandness of its environments. Most of the game resembles a wasteland. The last area before the end game is the only place that looks good.

Eh... I liked the Metroid games because they let me explore, which is something I love in RPGs and other such games (Skies of Arcadia for the win!).

Even if it is somewhat bland, the music and the atmosphere of the two Metroid Prime games on the Cube is very, very nice. I like it a lot. I'm not too nitpicky about graphics.

Controls can't be changed in that game? I guess I never checked...I really liked the strafing with the control stick. I use the same control scheme in The Conduit.

Hmmm... I favor the control scheme popularized by the Halo series and its variations in some games, especially the adaptation made to Metal Gear Solid 4 and its odd version in Peace Walker.

Left analog stick to advance and strafe, with the right analog stick to look around and aim (the face buttons in the PSP case for PW), with the L1 button to aim and R1 button to fire the main weapon and R2 button for optional secondary weapon.

Substitute the right analog stick with the freedom of precision pointing and you essentially have the same control scheme.

He's saying that the Wiimote essentially replaces the right analog stick in Metroid Prime 3 when you take Halo's control scheme as the basis.

I've finished Metroid Prime 3: Corruption yesterday. When I did, I was like "...That's it?". The final boss battle wasn't well done, save for the first phase against Dark Samus. More importantly, this game doesn't answer a question that's been there since the first game: where the hell does Metroid Prime come from?!

In my opinion, the game's biggest problem is that it lacks focus.

Anyway, I picked up Sonic Rush Adventure again, which I had started a week ago then abandoned after a couple days to concentrate on Metroid Prime 3. I'm enjoying it. The mini-game travel sequences are fun, and the level design is better than Sonic Rush's. It flows much better, allowing me to have fun with it as I race through everything.

Been playing random games on the PS2... But nothing for a long time.

Still, my PSP demands attention and I'm willing to give it some. Probably will do some more Peace Walker missions later.
