Dark Force of PSIII...how can it be here, how can it return?

Discuss anything related to the Phantasy Star series

Postby xrick » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:33 pm

Not much, just the deal of it being in the future and not having the gamestyle than E1/2/4...

It's just my opinion, nothing else.

Oh! I disagree with you here, mate:

thepeaguy wrote:PSIII hasn't had any influence from Reiko Kodama, who has created the original series mythology in the first place. Its position in the timeline is debatable now since the generation remakes were only including 1,2 & 4 before that project was canned.

PS3's position in the timeline is not put in peril in any way by remakes and such. PS4 makes sure to include elements from PS3 in several forms:

Rappies appear as enemies in a subquest.

When exploring the wrecked ship near Nalya, you encounter enemies called Warren 286 and the Wren in PS3 is called Searren 386, while Wren in PS4 is called Forren, although no number is added after his name. I don't remember, since it's been a long time since I last played PS4 from start to finish, but I think that there are Searren 286s in Vahal Fort...

The presence of the wreckage only comes to further cement PS3's existence in the timeline.

The only arguable thing is the inconcistency of the English version against the original Japanese version.

However, getting back to Dark Force, yeah, I think more or less the same as you. Dead like Elvis.

xrick, it sounds more like you don't like the game itself than what it brought to the continuity.

Speaking of Rappies, they appear in the remakes, even further cementing PSIII's canonity. :)

What is the highest posting rank in this forum?
I'm now "88+ Rolf the Raging Kewl" (Man, I really don't go with the english character names... :?)

"Demilicious", the rank that WING-0 has, is the highest at the moment.

*post out of nowhere* I have it to.

I like that parent/child one, ut seems to support for PSIII. I was going to use the mob as an example, but that one is better.

I felt like bringing this topic back from the dead.

PS3's position in the timeline is not put in peril in any way by remakes and such. PS4 makes sure to include elements from PS3 in several forms:

It is if you look how Dark Force's origins and true purpose are revealed in PSIV. Everything happened in 3 became standalone because PSIV's plot retconned this shit. They used the wreckage as a homage to PSIII but everything else in the story is inconsistent with 4.

Why would Dark Force go on a rampage and destroy each ship? Its purpose was to weaken the planetary seal by confounding both native and immigrant alike with promises of power and dominion.
