This weekend I played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Great game. I like the Star Wars series, especially the original trilogy. This game is nice because it is placed before Episode 4 and tells the story of Darth Vader's little pupil who wasn't that little at all... being an adult with a seemingly bad temper. The gameplay is also very fun. Fast paced and rewarding for using different methods to kill opponents (hey, this is a violent game after all) instead of just using a lightsaber, such as electrocuting them, blowing them away, throwing them against a wall, or what I understood late in the game... To use the environment itself to defeat enemies.

One particular thing I enjoyed greatly was that the stages are all different, even if two being second visits to two of the same planets I had been in before. The graphics, while a bit odd, especially in facial animations, are rather nice to look at. My only real complaint would be that the game still has bugs, in one instance freezing the game in place, except I could still go back from the menu to the title screen and load the stage, which made me lose progress, but not so much thanks to the checkpoint feature.

The music is another good point. Typical star wars fare. The voice acting is one particular point I feel needs to be mentioned. Excellent. Simply excellent.

Now that I finished it, I'll play the extras AND see if I can preorder both Macross Triangle Frontier and Valkyria of the Battlefield 3 for the PSP. I'm talking about the Japanese versions. Macross games won't ever come out in non Japanese territories and Valkyria 3 isn't going to come out for nearly another year. Year that I'm not going to wait out, especially with the inclusion of Aya Endou as one of the two heroines of the game, the Valkyria named Riela Marcellis...

Second in my priority list is Mass Effect 2 for the PS3... I have played the XBox 360 version, but have never enjoyed it to the fullest... It is, after all, not mine.

Sadly, I'm still considering buying a Crapbox 360 only because of Halo: Reach... which I have already beaten. That, and maybe the Gays of War series, which is, for a lack of a better term, highly entertaining... Especially in my own language... Something I really envy Microsoft users.

I pulled out my copy of Orbiter 2010, and refreshed my memory on how to fly a spaceship. Very few things outside of racing can inspire a pure adrenaline rush beyond flying an XR2 Ravenstar into orbit, the flight computer counting out your speed, "Mach 7...Mach 10... " as you push your altitude over 60 kilometers, Scramjet engines screaming in harmony as they exceed 7,500 Kelvin (13,000 deg F) on the inside. I still find it amazing how the sky can be black as night while the ground below proves that it's still daylight, with the sun just off the nose of my ship as I prepare to rendezvous with the International Space Station in roughly 18 hours' time, in a high speed maneuver of extreme precision and timing... :D

I played a good deal of Blade Kitten. It's a shame. I read the reviews it got and most of what I read were negative...

The game IS good. Very, very good, even. It doesn't deserve praise as a wonder of videogames, that's true, but for a current generation platformer that goes a little back by keeping itself as a 2D adventure, while applying newer ideas, it's beyond excellent.

The characters are entertaining, the music is nice, the humor is fun, the gameplay is very good. Yet it doesn't sell what it should. It makes me think that most mainstream gamers are just a bunch of spoiled little shits that want their games to be enormous blockbusters, when the fun they want can be achieved with a simple, fun game that makes them spend a nice time.

I really want to play Kit Ballard's next adventure already.

If you have a PS3, a strong PC or a 360, give this a chance. It's not your run of the mill game, and Krome deserve their bread on their table. It has that little magic missing in so many modern games.

Went back to playing Phantasy Star Portable 2 in Japanese. I'm really regretting buying the US release after having bought the japanese one. Reason is that I never play online with ANYONE. Add to that that I didn't like the fact that most of the voiced scenes were not voiced in English, and the voice actors and actresses, while good, didn't fit how I was used to the Japanese voices. That said, the contents don't envy the Japanese version's one bit. It's just a matter of personal preference regarding voices.

I'll keep leveling up my Lv 80 something character and wait until I have a chance to get the Japanese version of Infinity.

Since Ragnarok is on my PC tower 300kms away and my PS3 is downloading various games that are on discount, I have been playing PSO Ep. 3 tonight.

First of all, I should say that Guykild has become my favorite. I use him whenever it doesn't get in the way of a cutscene.

I just finished fighting the Leukon Knight. Finally, a heated battle! Although I beat him on my first try (thankfully due to a low roll deck with some high roll rifles I've been trying) it was a very intense fight. I wish they were all like this, haha.

Anyway...I shall continue...

I'm on again and off again with Final Fantasy XII. Getting hit by a car two months ago interrupted my gaming, but I hope to resume my struggle through it this weekend. I hate Vaan and the battle system. But I own it, so on principle must beat it. :(

I've been playing The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and beat it today. I'm missing two rabbits and probably two heart containers.
Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Yeah. Quite a shame. It's very fun. Do you play it on PS3 or 360?

So, I downloaded and finished Sonic Adventure DX (with Sonic only so far) yesterday. Definitely a very fun game. The running stages are the best and I can now say for that reason that this game is better than Adventure 2. The platforming with Knuckles in SA2 is sub-par and the areas with Tails are flat out boring. The running stages were always the best with Sonic/Shadow. So a game that is full of them? Well, count me in.

This is also a significant play through because now I think I've played every Sonic game before the year 2000...
