Now I'm completely derailing my own thread, but I just updated chapter four (the viewable doc), where Suha shows some government probes who's in charge in the wastelands.

On a PS commissions note, I do have one PS commission left right now that I've been waiting for since January. It's for Black Sword ('cuz I'm cool like dat). It doesn't really fit the original point of this thread which was redesigned PS characters (it's of Adan and Gwyn and it's not a redesign), but whatever. I already derailed the hell out of this thread, anyway.

Un-derailing the thread. Chibi Adan, Gwyn, and Kara!

Would just like to say...they're freakin' adorable!

Kara bugs me because she looks more like a cutesy version of warrior Kara. :( The design's not bad, but that's what comes to mind. The other characters are pretty spot-on, too, so that's what throws me off mostly.

Well, this Kara is based on the armored Princess Kara from earlier. Just note the tiara and skirt and remeber Warrioress Kara wouldn't be caught dead in those or with that sweet expression.

Asked my commissioner what he uses for his work. His answer was "Currently I'm using just a cintiq tablet now. I use to do draw scan and tablet. Programs I use are photoshop and paint tool sai."

Yeah ok, bumping a thread. Never mind. :p

People seem to either like chibis or not at all. I quite like these. I've thought about trying them myself at some point.. Though overall, the artwork shown here's all good. Makes me wish I'd taken some classes in art and also reminds me I've got a loooong way to go. :D

Thread necromancy!

Here's some artwork of Maia done for moi:

Image

Hopefully the image size is reasonable, and please be gentle with the comments. Normally I wouldn't say that, except that I get a little uncomfortable since it's not actually *MY* artwork. It's not like I'm asking for ways to improve and so forth here. And also, this artist has a very particular digital watercolor style that's maybe a bit outside the standard manga look (which is one of the reasons I chose the artist), so I'm aware of that, too. The small changes to Maia's outfit (her skirt and giant golden girdle) were my choosing. You can rough me up over that. She hasn't posted this to her gallery as of this reply, but here's her dA page: http://fee-absinthe.deviantart.com/ if you'd like to leave her a comment.

I'm somehow very attracted to her style, very nice and different.

Marlena! *glomp*

I don't have a problem with the watercolour look! It looks good. I don't mind the changes either. The only problem I have with it is that her eyes are kind of wide.

I'll reserve the critiques, but the coloring is absolutely gorgeous and I love how the flowers look. Maia feels somehow...magical, in this, which I really like, and the warm tones of orange really compliment her. This kinda makes me imagine that Maia's out on a warm, summer afternoon when the sun's setting or something corny like that. :D
