That was really good, Rularkir. How much time did you take? I'm willing to help in this project.

A friend of mine had a lot of ripped sprites from PS Generation, in the RPG Maker format. I'm going to ask him this week if he can share them.

Well since i can't do it all in one sitting, i do a little at a time when i get a free moment. Probably takes me about 20 minutes to extract the sprite from the background, clean up the edges, and make sure it's all symmetrical. Sometimes I have to take the best looking side and flip it to match the other side, as long as both are equal. SOI for an entire set? 3-4 hours. It'd be good if we can get some PSG1 sprites since my CD will NOT load on an emulator. BTW, next up: NEI

Moved away from walking sprites to combat, since i now have emulator access with full slow motion, one thing i can't capture is the slashing animations because of the overlap. But here are Nei's attacking animations. (hope no one minds the double posting)

I remember remarking elsewhere how prominent Nei's butt is in combat....

haha yeah, i noticed that too, also in her walking sprites, which are in progress by the way. I've also ripped Kain's dagger attack animation. I'll post it now, i needed Kain for something in my game so I did him early.

I'm also trying to rip town tiles into rpgvx format, which is proving tiresome >_< but i need them for my game obviously.

Hi,

I've tried (and still trying) to rip graphics from PS2G. I had decent results with a little util called texmod. For example, I got this kind of sheets quite easily :

but also :

towns-people-sheet-1.png

or :

Maybe it can help.

From what I've seen, ennemies sprites are more complicated (they are made from several sub-sprites, sometimes rotated, e.g. heads).

I'm currently focused on tiles in maps, and it's even harder. I gave up in thinking I could precisely rip them, but I think I can get a quite close result if I permit some little simplifications.

Edit : by the way, texmod seems to work well with PS1G too.

Tryphon that is some awesome work there, would you mind me adding these to the PS Cave resource section in the coming future? :)

Do whatever you want I already used the section quite much when working on the old Genesis version, so I'd feel as if I'd pay back my debt

I have real size maps of motavian towns (almost npc free) if you like, and a partial map of motavia (that I'll finish someday).
