I've been reading some of his other stuff, and he has a lot of good ideas. His Sonic one is neat--he imagines a typical Sonic 2D stage, but with a FPS capture-the-flag/base-acquisition gameplay mechanic, where you'd be stealing Flickies or whatever from the enemy base and bringing them back to your own base--I think that'd be a lot of fun and a breath of fresh air for the franchise.
