What would a 'perfect' Phantasy Star IV save file look like?

Postby etony33 » Tue Mar 14, 2017 9:11 pm

I'll have to think about this a bit more. Any suggestions?

I would think everyone would have to be at max level, but the question of what the inventory would look like is much more difficult. I would think that it would involve simply having access (via shopping or enemy drop) to every item in the game. Anything that you cannot get more of once The Edge is accessible would need to be in your inventory.

Oh, and everyone at level 99 would exclude Alys and Seth (unless you really wanted to get them to level 99, in which case, have fun with that)

there isn't enough space in the inventory to have a copy of every item in the game. the perfect file would be hard to describe... probably all 9 characters with their best equipment, all guild missions done, all Android skills, Megid, etc.

I know there isn't enough room for every item. Is there enough room for every missable item, though (in other words, if you don't already have it by the time The Edge is accessible, you can't ever get it)?

I'm not even sure what items are missable.

Missable items include Laser Sword, Laser Claw, Swift Helm, Power Shield, Cyber Suit (from Seth). Those are the only items in the game that cannot be found later and that are in a dungeon that will be inaccessible later in the game. Though I am not sure if any of those can be dropped by an enemy (I think the Laser Claw can).

It'd hypothetically include anything that was sold only in Mile, but I'm almost certain nothing meets that criteria.

If there was anything exclusive to Mile, yes, but all the stuff in Mile can be bought in Aiedo's central Mall.

Can you go into Vahal Fort if you don't do the guild mission? I've never tried doing that, to be honest. I know the guild mission is no longer available after you get Elsydeon.

Also, there would be a number of weapons that are missable in the sense that once you sell them, you can never get them again. So you'd have to a) keep the chests containing these items unopened (assuming that you'd be able to go back there and get them after The Edge is available) or b) keep them in your inventory. The Impacter and Plasma Rifle are both starting equipment for Demi and Wren respectively, and I'm almost certain you cannot get another one, so you'd have to keep them.

Also, unless someone fixed the max level bug then I think you would technically need everyone to be one level below max with 1 XP left to level.

Unfortunately, no. I tried it myself once.

Get everyone to level 99, inventory filled with all items needed, some useful not-needed stuff (e.g swift helmet, extra guard claw), and split near evenly with sol-dews, stars, and to a smaller extent, repair kits.

All guild mission would also be done, but as for Alys and Seth to level 99... getting Seth to level 99 would just take a bit of time in the Vahal Fort. Getting Alys to level 99 would take a pretty long time, but it would be possible.

As far as Alys and Seth are concerned, there would be no way to verify their level, so it wouldn't actually matter I wouldn't think.
