Phantasy Star Trilogy officially announced
The text is from this IGN article.
"SEGA Ages: Phantasy Star Trilogy
Kind of bizarre because its missing Generations of Doom, Phantasy Star Trilogy will boast the remade iterations of Phantasy Star: Generation 1, Phantasy Star II, and Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millennium. Just like the Classics Collection, Phantasy Star Trilogy will boast improved graphics, enhanced soundtracks, and additional features not present in the original versions of the games. RPG fans should mark their calendars now; PST is due to hit retailers in Q1 2005."

I know this is news, though I've already been informed about this by one of the Conspiracy Entertainment crew. I was going to add the news back then in the upcoming Phantasy Star Generation 1 section, but the mac harddrive crash came in the way :/

RPG Engine in progress
This is taken from Naflign's Ego:
Basically this is an attempt to both create an alternitive to the rpgmaker programs. I think it's actually going really well, after a long delay in development. Because I'm writing this as a tool for use in making PS2a, it's somewhat specifically aimed at creating Phantasy Star style games. The other big advantage is that it's not windows only. The editor itself runs on windows, linux, and OSX. While the engine which plays the game runs on windows, linux, OSX, and the dreamcast as well.

This project seems very interesting! Naflign has added a preview screenshot (click to enlarge):

Sega announces new Phantasy Star Game
PSLassic has written this in the forums:
Today at its E3 booth, Sega revealed it is working on a new Phantasy Star game, an action RPG entitled Phantasy Star Universe.
The publisher made no mention of Phantasy Star Universe at its "surprise" press announcement this morning, where the only thing shown was a multiplayer demo of the Matrix Online. It didn't divulge much more information about the early-in-development game at its booth, either, other than show a trailer for Universe. No info on platforms or release date were made available.

The Phantasy Star Universe trailer contained only prerendered CG footage starring characters and environments that looked stylistically similar to those seen in the recent Phantasy Star Online games. We observed one character fighting monsters with electro-blades, another animal-like warrior speeding through a desert environment, and a purple-haired girl with some resemblance to Phantasy Star II's Nei as we watched the trailer.

The Phantasy Star series began eons ago on the Sega Master System. After four popular single-player RPGs, the series took a multi-year hiatus and then reemerged on the Dreamcast in the form of Phantasy Star Online. Despite the series' recent focus on online play, Sega representatives are mum about whether Universe will center on off- or online play. Since the combat in the game is real-time instead of turn-based, it could go either way.

We'll bring you more details on Phantasy Star Universe as soon as they become available. In the meantime, keep an eye on GameSpot for the game's first trailer later today.

You can read the post here
The Phantasy Star Universe website can be reached here.
Man this is exciting!

Update 13 May: The trailer has been released, download it here. The size of the trailer is 60mb. You have to be a member of Gamespot to download it (it's free of course), I would upload it here, but it's pretty large and I will take a lot of bandwidth.

PS Generation 1 US release date?
Orakio Rob posted this at the PSDB:

Finally, Conspiracy answered one of my e-mails asking for the release date of PSGeneration in the US!

My (really short) e-mail:
"-----Original Message-----
From: Orakio Rob [mailto:orakio_rob@yahoo.com.br]
Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2004 4:03 AM
To: info@conspiracygames.com
Subject: Release date of Sega Ages, please...

...when will Phantasy Star, from the Sega Ages series, be released? Thanks..."

And the answer from Tiffanny Wattanaporn (porn?) :-) tiffany@conspiracygames.com
"It is being planned for Q1 2005. It will include PS 1,2 and 3."

Well, first of all, as most Phantasy Star fans know, the remakes for Playstation 2 will be of Phantasy Star 1, 2 and 4 (not 3, as Tiffanny Wattanaporn mentions in her respond).
Why she wrote 3 is probably by mistake. Also she mention that "It will include...", meaning that maybe they will join the three PS remakes in one (as the GBA verson of PS Collection). That would be great.
It's time for me to drop Conspiracy Games a line.
