The board style is PHP, correct? My forums use a similar format. However, we'll soon be upgrading to vBulletin, but I was curious to know if PHP was better. Can you give me an opinion?

My personal opinion is that phpBB (at least version 2) isn't that good. It doesn't scale well, and the back-end code is a mess.
vBulletin is good. However, it isn't free...
My personal favourite is RPGBoard, but it's not for everyone, it seems.

RPGboard. Wasn't that the format for the old PSDB? If so, it is a mixed bag for me... I liked how the posts ALL showed up and made it easy for me to follow conversations, instead of looking for a specific post...
What I didn't like was the apparent lack of security... Or maybe that's because Maxx wasn't that good an admin in my eyes... Or maybe I was more trollish... I dunno...

Yes, the PSDB used RPGBoard. What lack of security do you mean? The fact that the IP addresses showed up?

That too... (Hell, I don't like my IP address showing up, to be honest), but my gripe with it was how easy it SEEMED to start impersonating other people.

Hmm...so vBulletin's the way to go. I know the cost, and we're working on the cash. I have a job, plus I'm enabling google Adsense for extra cash.
Thanks.
