Probably we are too old.
I'm 26 and I played PS 13 years ago with a different concept about Sci-fi.
The games reflects the age of their targets, so new PS is targeted on actual teenagers,
not on old teenagers that now are next to 30 ~_~

Basically, people would like to be able to level their character offline also.
Makes me wonder why Neo likes Blue Burst. It also has server-side saving.

But that would be strictly online. Unless there is something I don't know. If offline and online are split on that as well, then your right, I wouldn't like that.

Blue Burst has only an online mode, if that's what you mean.

What would be the fun of playing offline anyway? Speaking as someone who had to do it, IT SUCKS HARDCORE ASS!
Alteast now I can prob. make my PSV Fan game Hero into this game, that should be relatively intertaining *hopes you can add capes*

Well, you said you didn't like if you had to pay to use your character, which is what Blue Burst does.

What would be the fun of playing offline anyway? Speaking as someone who had to do it, IT SUCKS HARDCORE ASS!

To you, because you don't like the game itself to start with. Duh.
Many people here play offline and enjoy it, myself included. :)

Very few people? What the hell?
Go to PSOW and see for yourself how many people aren't online and still enjoy the game.

When PSO came out on the GameCube, the PS2 had NO online play. Since before the PS2 was even released, Sony has been announcing online play, but it was going to take years. And now online play has recently started, but isn't supported that well, it seems.
[Edit by Benoit on [TIME]1111956937[/TIME]]

What do you mean recently started?!?!?! Sony's online gaming venture started the same time Xbox Live! hit. The first game online for sony was Frequency and that was way before PSO(gc) or Xbox Live was released. Kinda like when Sega released Chu Chu rocket before releasing Sega net. Plus you have a greater range of people who have a PS2 and a network adpater than people who have the GC and network/modem adpaters.

[Edit by HuBBsDoctor on [TIME]1111981249[/TIME]]

I'm going to wait this out...right now, the online sounds quite tempting...
Offline...well, we'll wait and see. There are few enough details to make an educated assumption about the story. I resent the main character, however (let's chalk that up to his...youthful...appearance. I hope he doesn't cry...), and I resent that you have no choice in what your main character is. That is not the essence of Role-playing.
Also, the fan-base built for the next generation of Phantasy Star on the other consoles is gone. Yes, let's give the fans what they want...on the console they don't own. Though, there is some sense to it; the Phantasy Star remakes are released on the PS2. Perhaps they are trying to draw back the fans that enjoyed the old games.
We can only hope that they release PSU for GC after the initial launch, like they did for RE4 and Viewtiful Joe.

I think he ment that something similar should happen and didn't mean those as if they were on the PS 2 first and then got ported to the GC.

Well, you said you didn't like if you had to pay to use your character, which is what Blue Burst does.

Guess I didn't explain well enough. Paying to play your character is something we can't get away with these days. I know if I want to go online, I will have to pay, no matter what game it is. (Except Guild Wars...you rock Blizzard North!!! :D ) Now, if the pay to play online and there is an offline mode...where you are forced to use a character that is set and made for you, is just not cool. One of the best things about PSO was using the character in both modes, and with complete transfer of data (levels, weapons). Now we have a forced offline mode (Story Character) and a forced online mode (Pay to Play). Hmm, not very nice is it? What PSO did was unique, it was never seen anywhere. Most online games these days have no offline mode. I think they should have stuck with the PSO idea (in that area of the game).
*Directed at gm2987* I bet you 95% - 100% of the people here play offline mode. Look at me, I still do and I have spent 50 days worth of hours playing it (sad? maybe %) ). Just because you didn't enjoy it doesn't mean everyone is on your side.
