my only problem is that its not even for the GC,now everyone needs to buy a PS2 or PC to play it. most of the fanbase of the PSO games own a GC.

yeah but the console with the largest consumer and online community is PS2
Sega would go bankrupt if they keep selling their biggest budget games on weaksauce like Gamecube. They could make much much more money on PS2 or Xbox and obviously PC.

Lietz, you make it sound like it's out of the realm of practicality to get a PS2 or a PC. Of course they're not going to put in on the Gamecube, because that console bites the dust compared to the sales of personal PCs or a PS2! You gotta think like the marketers.

Even the Dreamcast sells better there!
Sega has released PS2 games before, and they don't sell as well there as on GameCube.

Unless a lot of us use their friend´s PCs, I don´t think that´s a console most of us would have to buy only to play PSU.
Even though the Playstation 2 is on the edge of its existence (the PS3 is coming on the way), it and PC are the most popular gaming consoles out there. Which means there are more potential customers than if it was only for X-Box, for example. It is a smart move, although it could also mean that they are just going to release a cheap game for popular consoles to sell faster and make easy money, which could be pushing down the technical quality of the game. That´s my main concern.

To access the Internet, you don't need a recent PC at all, either.
To play PSU, I would have to buy a new PC with a decent processor and possibly an expensive graphics card.
For other people, it would mean a big upgrade.
And for people with recent enough PCs, some of them would have to buy a new graphics card.

Please, you can use a 32 or a 64 mb graphics card to do what a 128 can do.
YOu don't necessarily have to upgrade the card

Tell that to the software developers. %)
They will still require you to have powerful ones.

You can build ur own decent computer 400-500 bucks *and it will be twice as good as a Dell*
Building a computer might seem like hell, but its actually fairly simple and easy, I just recently built mine and Im loving it! :D

But suddenly the game costs $560....and thats no fun...
More people will go for the PS2 over PC for the cost (if buying a new system for it).

Well buying a new computer for just one game wouldnt be rational, but there are other gr8 games out there and computers have tons of use.

I know I would spend much less upgrading this old machine than buying a Game Cube. And more, I wouldn´t spend all this money just to play games, but also to make it work faster for me in many ways. In all aspects, it´s an advantage.

Here is a bright idea...why not just release it for PS2, PC, and Gamecube? That way you get the market for those who don't want to use a PC or get a PS2 to play the game, but you can still reach the people who do.
