ok so the game will take players to the Grahl System, which consists of three planets.<p>Parum. majority of Humans live there.<p>Neudaiz. a large dose of Numans live there.<p>Moatoob. Beasts homeworld I guess.<p>(Casts are supposedly evenly spread out among the planets)<p>While traditionally fierce battles have been fought in this solar system, the Final War was fought 100 years ago. In the aftermath of this war, the Grahl System Federation was founded and an army set up.<p>Since then the solar system has been at peace. As Phantasy Star Universe's story begins, the people are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Federation's foundation. Just as the game's protagonist Ethan and his little sister Lumia are enjoying this marvelous activities, an alien race known as SEEDs appear and attack. On the Guardians Colony where the aliens also appear, panic breaks out and one Guardian after another is falling, leaving only Ethan to search for his sister.<p>I checked the updated website and Ethan's sister is actually this one: (dam long links so I split them)<p>http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/634/<br>634270/phantasy-star-universe-20050715072655542.jpg<p>sounds like sources indicate her name is Lumia Weber,<br>although IGN.com labeled her picture as a generic Human, the official website looks to confirm that she is in fact his sister and of course a strong element in the story.<p>So Ethan Weber is the overall good guy who trains under Karen Era. Probably on a quest to find his sister, while doing assignments along the way.<br>Have no idea how well Ethan and Karen get along but it should be quite interesting. Chaz and Alys from Phantasy Star IV were a great team. Alys was older than Chaz. And it was great how the story expressed their relationship.<br>So it will be interesting to see how Karen, being of the same age as Ethan, ends up being his instructor. Well naturally despite the age relation, Karen would definitely be more experienced and mature.<p>What's really gonna be impressive is how Karen deals with the fact she can't use Techniques like others can. especially since she's a Newman/Numan, her species' greatest advantage has left her with almost nothing. Newmans have no advantage with physical strength. So one can't help but care about Karen's handicap. It will be great seeing Karen grow and evolve. Perhaps growing to be the strongest Newman, physically. (well Nei in PSII kicks arse with her speed and attacks. He is said to be Ethan's rival and makes a move on girls. So maybe that's partially explains why he's with Ethan and Karen in most of the screens. A family guy who's kinda like Ethan's big brother. So they get along most likely.<br>===<br>Then there's Mirei Mikuna. The mysterious character we've seen since the very first trailer and screens. although her art seems to show they improved her, making her seem older and mature than her cutesy counterpart. IGN says she's a Divine Maiden who symbolizes Communion of Gurhal.<p>Strange, Hyuga is said to be a a devoted adherent of Communion of Gurhal. an adherent is someone who believes and helps to spread the doctrine of another.<p>Well I suppose the CoG is some sort of religion or something. What's even more interesting is that Mirei is a Guardian too. and the same age as Ethan, Karen and Hyuga. maybe it's a coincedence.
