I suppose PSU was like PSIII, it had POTENTIAL but failed...

Err, no. While PSU has its share of problems, it's nowhere near as rushed and incomplete as PSIII.

Now it isn't. It was released rushed and incomplete. Nowadays internet patches can fix that. It wasn't enough to save the large population though.

Please explain. It certainly wasn't to the level of PSIII, though.

Some missions were buggy. Moatoob was not available. Max rank weapons were B. There were a total of 8 missions available. The max level was 50 (reached very quickly). PAs were very unbalanced.

Its been a long time though. These are the big things I can remember.

Aren't you confusing "unfinished" with "content to be unlocked" for most of these?

Heh, whichever way you want to say it. Most online games I know don't have you run out of things to do in less than a week.

But I don't want to get into comparing games that are over a decade different.

I played the offline missions and really enjoyed the game. Leveling up takes the most time. I would have preferred more missions, but I went to freeplay mode and jacked up my dude for the PSU follow-up.

Trying not to re-open an old thread but i found this relevant. I got to some marshy jungly level and got pretty far but ran out of lives, got annoyed and i dont think i ever played it again, and since getting a 80GB PS3 that cant play PS2 games i doubt ill ever see it again. FFXIII looks like a similar kind of thing though?

Not sure I understand your question, Semix.

Well i could never be bothered to finish it. Now i have a PS3 i wont be plugging my PS2 in to play it again. But Final Fantasy looks simular to PSU. Might be worth looking at.

Oooh. I see. Hmmm, I wouldn't say similar... To me, they have a completely different feel, but that's just me.

PSU is one of the games I keep going back to from time to time, even in offline. For me, the free missions are a good way to unwind after a difficult day, especially since I haven't unlocked the best weapons nor beaten the hardest bosses.

But those are just my tastes. You just have to enjoy what you play and you're all set.

I've been considering buying either Modern Warfare 2 (after incessant recommendations) or Resistance 2 (after another bunch of incessant recommendations)... But that'll have to wait until the end of the year, I think.

Heheh, careful. I have played several FPS games, and while I don't play them much, I can say I'm far from proficient.

I'd have to practice a lot to be able to not slow you down.

That said, I'm considering getting one of those games (probably MW2) until winter, and we're not even done with the first half of the year. So if you two still play it until then, I'll be happy to jump in, just don't expect a Killing Machine out of me... More like a Killed Machine... :P

Although I already have a headset.

Everyone is variable. I could get a game where i get a quick 30 kill streak and 60-80 odd kills, or a near perfect FFA, then get deathstreaks the next. Depends on the Map, your Class, the Enemies and so on. However having a low level like you would really help us, you could get us some low level enemies. And me being 4th prestiges scares the hell out of em ;)
