Phantasy Star 2 seems to be non-compatible with the rerecording. I'm encountering monsters in the playbacks when I encountered nothing in the recordings. Something tells me the random factor is generated on the fly, and as such just doesn't work.

weird, i'm doing Phantasy Star 2 right now and i dont have any problems with re-recordings.
might such malfunctions appear couse of the savestate you chose for resuming your record? i had something like this when i used a bit old savestate for restarting from that point. man i passed whole Shure under a perfect time and after reviewing my movie it bugged under that point when i used that old savestate lol - shure was gone :| you gota be carefull on that one. btw, can you email me that demo so that i could give it a look
and to others, plz no offtopics :)

resuming movie recording from last savestate doesnt seem to work for some reason. best way to continue recording your demo is to play it setting Frame Skip to 8 (it's like a very fastforward) and seeting it back to Auto when it reaches the point you want to improve or continue. gl and hf !~

uh, lol just found out that resuming movie recording from savestate works perfectly, it just takes *.gmv and *.gs[0-9] to be in the same folder and i had my *.gmv under a 'save' subfolder :]

NESticle has a similar movie recording utility since years. However, random values aren't saved, so your movie will be botched by them.

I don't care about a timeattack agasin't other people but it does make me curious on how fast I can beat PS4... Hmm I think I'll give it a try if I can get it working correctly...

。。。Hm...interesting, I'll have to give that a try. Ya, i would often go back to a save state previously made if I accidently encountered when i saved.

It may have been said already, but I find time attacks to be going against the nature of an RPG. It's more suited for Metroid. However, completion with the lowest level is something entirely different...

same for me..
of course an RPG isnt the right game to choose doing a time attack. none would go looking for a speedrun movie lasting for hours. movie is just a proof of your time.
all this idea was was brought up just for PS phans. wouldnt it be cool for pscave to have a Record section with the best walkthrough times for each of Phantasy part with demos to it and stuff like Top5 and etc?

If rush through an RPG you can't really enjoy the development of the storyline or the characters and all the things an RPG was made for...
Hero, when I'm the one who gets off topic, don't be afraid to tell me so directly. I know I have a habit of going off on a tangent (especially about RPG play), it being the nature of my Italian blood.

Here's an idea: how about a record of completion of any of the PS games using less of the restorative techniques and items?

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1106582403[/TIME]]

Now that would be a challenge, if you could keep an accurate record.
