AFAIK, there was no upgrade to the game- same graphics, same sound. Only the packaging was different...

That's what I hate most about the Playstation Generation of gamers: If a game doesn't have flashy graphics, some cheesy gimmick, or isn't 3D they just think it sucks.
PS1 was a breakthrough game in it's day. We hadn't seen anything like it then. And now here it is almost 20 years later and I think it still looks pretty good considering. All of you little so called RPGers who came into the mix with FF7 and think you know what you're talking about should try to have a little more respect for the game that made RPGs what they are today.

Phantasy Star ONE for Mega Drive???

A friend that I saw again just like last year on camping calls himself a Final Fantasy maniac. Last year he was an RPG one.
But he doesn't like FFVIII and says FFIV, FFV and FFVI have bad graphics, look like Lego, and have bad stories... while he can't read English well. I sure talked his head off! :@ Saying a story sucks when he doesn't even know it. Oh the nerve! Lego... come on, I'll agree for FFIV a bit, but the rest? And it was like that in the day, and it was good. For him (like most people who speak French), the games have to be in French. Urgh. Learn English!

AFAIK, there was no upgrade to the game- same graphics, same sound. Only the packaging was different...

Same as the Japanese version, which had BETTER SOUND, because of the FM chip, which was unavailable over here. So getting the Mega Drive version over here would still be good.
