...
Everytime I read favourite topics from various message boards such as this one, opinions are usually expressed with lazy, half-assed one line sentences, like this one, for example:

Originally posted by some random idiot:
PS4 iz teh besht! PS2 suk00rs!!!010101

...For god sakes, peeps, can't you add more input than that? What about gameplay, music, graphics, storyline, characters? I want to know all of the details of why you like/dislike something; otherwise, I, and probably many other intelligent posters here, will not feel inclined to take you seriously as a poster if you choose to put a lack of content on your messages. Simply put: it's dull, it's tedious, it's boring to read.
It really isn't that hard. Here's my own input of my favourite Phantasy Star game.
I highly regard Phantasy Star IV (PSIV) as my favourite game of the infamous Phantasy Star series, and I'll explain why.
Considering the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis is inferior in technology compared to the Super Nintendo, you can see how much of the technical abilites of Sega's 16-bit machine has been pushed to its limits when you see the beautiful graphics of PSIV. The animation, the cut-scenes, the battle sprites and the special effects -- it's all first class.
The music of this game is rather good, because it gets you in the mood when you explore towns/dungeons/villages and when you fight in battles. My favourite music of this game are some of the boss themes. I like Ooze, Laughter and King of Terror the most.
The battle system, imho, is the most innovative feature included in this game. Not only you can attack, heal, defend (like you do on the other PS games), you can also combine various Skills/Techs with the other teammates to create more powerful skills, which has a more positive impact on the battles than your standard ones.
The storyline is rather good, although I admit it does lack depth compared to PSII's storyline (my most hated PS game). Instead of the highly refined plot twists you would find in that said game, PSIV tends to rely on tedious cameo apperances alot to keep the PS Phan surprised and such. You see the projection of the PS1 antagonist Dark Falz on the final dungeon, Myau makes an appearance as the Old Man, Lassic returns, etc. It's not all bad, though, because this game has better character development than the other games in the series. Chaz' surrogate mother/mentor, Alys Brangwin, dies and Chaz has to become an adult without the support of Alys herself -- you witness an adolescent Chaz growing up to be a responsible and wise adult that has the fate of Algo resting on his shoulders; Rika, the genetically-engineered humanoid who trys to find her reason of living when she leaves the Biosystems lab administered by her creator -- an AI called Seed; and Rune, an arrogant magic user that has an awe of mystery to him.
So there you have it -- my input of my favourite game. I might have made a few errors here and there, but at least I have made the effort on expressing into greater detail compared to others that can't be arsed to do so.

P.S: Koichi, please minimise the resolution of your avatar to an adequate size because it's overstretching the tables of this thread.

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1119807252[/TIME]]
