The true ending of PSII. (spoilers)

Postby Saner2 » Sat Jan 29, 2005 6:48 pm

I believe Rolf and friends killed as many of the 100 Earthpeople as possible, but they got overwhelmed and killed.
I think Rolf was the last to be alive, and he used Megid to blow up everyone and the ship Noah as well so that Algo will be free from the evil humans. and since Megid harms his party when used, I dont think storywise he ever used Megid until the ending. Megid in PSII kinda symbolizes "victory for a price."
that's why he thought to himself "I wonder what the people will see in the final days?" he knew he wouldnt live to see any of it.
you must also take note they fought and SURVIVED against Dark Force, AND THEN Mother Brain soon after.
AND now fighting 100 people that have them surrounded?? HP has no revelance to the fact that the heroes are flesh, blood and bone.
there's no way they would win without taking down the earthpeople with them.
and besides if the Earth people won, there would be another Mother Brain in Algo, and all the Palmans, Motavians and Dezolians would be wiped out and the humans would give birth to a new civilization. and Motavia wouldn't be in the state it is in during PS4.
and if Rolf and company won, they would have had statues like Alis does in PS4.
YET the fact is they were never remembered as heroes. So I believe there would not be a home to come back to if they returned to Motavia alive anyway.
This ties in with the uniqueness of the story. whereas in PS1 it ends how one would expect it would end. the heroes are all alive. they save the solar system. happy smiley faces everywhere.
PSII never ceases to shock its viewers with original conclusions. such as centering the last remaining humans as truly evil and responsible for all this. (well not counting Dark Force). Teim getting slaughtered by Darum and then Darum blowing himself up. Nei's connection with NeiFirst. Rolf and company being branded as terrorists. Palm getting blown up. etc. etc.

and if Rolf and company won, they would have had statues like Alis does in PS4.

No, they wouldn't have had those. Rolf and company would be hated by everyone for destroying what they believed to be good. It's because of Rolf that the planet declined.

If Rolf survived, he would have to hide himself somewhere in Dezoris, or his survival wouldn´t last long enough :^P

yeah you're right they wouldnt of gotten statues even if they lived. but the proof lies in the state of Motavia in PS4. If the humans won then Motavia would not end up like that.
as for if the heroes survived or not, all my facts (besides the statues) clearly point out they never left Noah.
it's sad, yet so was Hamlet and Macbeth, etc. etc.
the upcoming PSII remake MIGHT explain once and for all what really happened afterwards.

There are a whole lot of theories on this one. For example, if Rolf's Neisword IS elsydeon, it would have to make it back to Dezo somehow. Plus, if the Nei sword is capable of teleportation, I can't see a boyscout like Rolf not sending some of them home before he blows the place. (Actually, I've always figured he'd be pissed at Lutsu for warping the others up to help)
Just a thought.

The Neisword IS Elsydeon. Else not then why would Lutz have had it to give it to Rolf? Why couldn't it just be in a dungeon like the other Nei weapons? And then why in PSIV is Elsydeon in the Mansion and only Rune seems to know about it? And why as well are there no other Nei weapons? I agree with Andrew that at least one person had to survive and make it back to the epser mansion. I have my own opinion about the whole thing as well, but right now I'm too lazy to post it and I'm sure you all really don't want to read it. I do affirm however that regardless of who it was, one of the protectors had to survive in order to get that weapon back to the Mansion.

that's why he thought to himself "I wonder what the people will see in the final days?" he knew he wouldnt live to see any of it.

I don't think that was commentary on the fate of Algol only... more likely, it had two meanings. On a more basic level, it was speaking about Algol, but on a higher level, it was alluding to what will happen in our last days.

[Edit by LaconianShot on [TIME]1107052025[/TIME]]

Might I remind you all..
That according to NAflign's retranslation..
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of earthmen.
ROlf and co didn't just face 100, they faced a fucking army!
And if Rolf and co had survived, they wouldn't be remembered. THey weren't heroes, Tyler was. Rolf destroyed the people's easy lives, leading to hardships.
You don't remember something like that.
Rolf and Co defeated the earthmen, but what happened afterwards is unknown.
Look at our own world history, for example. Who is more vivid in the imaginations of the people? Hitler or Roosevelt?
I don't think they would have wanted to be remembered anyway...not after what they had been through.
well as for the sword. I think it's the only thing invincible. and just teleported to Lutz before the ship exploded. maybe Rolf wanted that, since he doesnt need the sword to use Megid. If Lutz could teleport Rolf's friends to help. I'm sure Lutz can teleport the Nei Sword to himself.
or maybe a happy ending would be Rolf charges up Megid, wipes out the earthlings, then they all come home to live in Dezolis I guess that's what the Espers in PS2 resemble (especially Kyra) they seem to wear a headband like Rolf's. so the Espers are the one that remember and praise Rolf and friends.

Rolf could have become the second generation Lutz..
Hence Rune has to keep checking on Motavia..
Rune has blue hair, Rolf has blue hair, Could be an esper tradition.

Well, the way I always viewed the ending is that no one returns alive. Don't know why, but I just like the extremely tragic ending better than the "one of them came back, etc." ending. The beauty of PSII's ending, however, is that it can be interpreted in whichever manner the player wants. That's what's so wonderful about it.

That made me think that Noah was actually born somewhere in Dezoris.

[Edit by Monocromatico on [TIME]1107103497[/TIME]]

Who is more vivid in the imaginations of the people? Hitler or Roosevelt?

Exactly. Who is Roosevelt?
There's a plaza named after him in Antwerp, where all the busses from the region gather, that's all I know.
