I just beat Dark Force at the end of PSII, and went on to fight Mother Brain, but died to Mother Brain.<p>And I've just realised I forgot to save after beating Dark Force!<p> !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$

Ouch. And that dark force battle is rough, too, what with the fact that you spend most of your time waiting for the Nei sword to activate while DF pummels you.<p>I feel for you.

HAHAHA!! Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but my friend did the same thing...only three times in a row!<p>Btw, how did you manage to beat DF and not beat Mother Brain? Mother Brain is way easier than that green-blue mass of heads.

There was a tip I found once in an EGM review of the first Might&Magic that became something I'd use ever since: "Death awaits at every corner, SAVE YOUR GAME OFTEN"<p>...well, I just added "Death, glitches, power outages, pop-up windows, game crashes, unexpected disconections, and people at the door/phone"... I save religiously every 5 minutes or whenever I hit on something important ever since (or whenever possible).

I forgot to heal during the Mother Brain battle!<p>Still, I've learned from it now, and now I've coompleted the game, so it doesn't really matter.<p>It could have been euphoria from beating DF that made me forget.

That's a common mistake.<br></blockquote><p>Even healing up, there's always the unexpected critical hit that does an extra +3 points of damage, killing you even if you were only mildly damaged before the hit. Sometimes you just can't help dying.

Usually she can survive 2 sword attacks with 3-7 life left, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. ~_~

What is awesome about the Mother Brain fight is that she holds the 3 planets of algo with her.<p>When you're attacking her, it's almost like you're attacking the system itself. You're destroying the MOTHER who rebult Palman Civilization from it's collapse when the conjunction hit.<p>Not a good way to treat a savior.. LOL
