Take this for what you will

So, Alys a) continues to gain experience until you get Elsydeon along with the characters you can select as your fifth character, and b) she can equip the Laconian Slasher and Moon Slasher, even though it actually required the programmers to specifically make this an option due to how the game is coded (in other words, they actually had to change something from 00 to 02 in order to make it so Alys could equip it).

Yep, the game has some sort of hidden roster, it's what also brings Chaz back to life if dead when entering the Sacred Sword Cavern or the third floor of the Anger Tower.

I guess they couldn't find a value for characters not gaining levels when gone. The same must happen with Seth.

As for her equipment, yes, Alys can indeed equip weapons and armour that would suit her, despite the period of the game. If she was available that late in fhe game, there's no reason why she wouldn't be able to equip them, so they're just left in the games code.

Here's the odd thing about it: each piece of equipment has 22 bytes corresponding to different things. Two of them deal with who can equip it. Byte 9 applies only to Raja, Kyra, and Seth (the values are added together. 04 would be only Seth among those three, 05 would be Seth and Raja, etc). Byte 10 applies to everyone else. So, for the Moonslasher, byte 9 is 02 (meaning Kyra can equip it, but not Raja or Seth). Byte 10 is also set to 02, meaning Alys can equip it, but not Chaz, Hahn, Rune, Gryz, Rika, Demi, or Wren. So, they actually had to change the value to 02 to make it so Alys could equip it even though it would not be possible without glitches or cheating to have a Moonslasher in your inventory while Alys is in your party.

I used Game Genie to level Seth up to level 99, and he learned a tech called Bio Plant. I then used a hex editor to give him TP so he could use it, and it froze the game when he tried.

As in THE 'Bio-Plant' found in the caves of Zema?

Guess not!

The hexadecimal that corresponds with the Bio-Plant "technique" is 63. I changed it to 62 with a hex editor, and lo and behold, he then knew a technique called "Birth Valley" instead. I'm guessing that they combined the names of techniques and places when coding in order to save space.

LOL! Nice work decoding that!

Is there a code for the "Edge"? That would make more sense for "Seth" to learn.

If you go beyond that, it starts going to shop descriptions, so you can give one of your characters a technique called "A shield made from sandworm skin."

Normally Kega Fusion. AndroGens on my phone, though I'm not really impressed with it.

sounds like an overflow that isn't normally expected.

the same overflow happens if you put an item that is not the Eclipse Torch into the Eclipse Torch chest in the Air Castle and have a full inventory. After the Lashiec fight, the game tries to put the Eclipse Torch into your inventory, so it overflows into the Meseta value, which gives you max meseta once you sell a single item. found that one out when I had a bug in my Randomizer that put an item in that chest when it was not supposed to.
