Could anyone offer any personal opinions on the original releases vs the alternate fan translations?

Phantasy Star I and Phantasy Star II mostly, as 3 and 4 don't seem to have alternate versions.

But I'm also unaware if and when the text adventures take place and the order they'd best be played in.

My history has been mostly been about an unwavering love for PSO and PSO2 to an extent that I want all of the info, context and to experience the original RPGs the "best" way.

The SMS version of Phantasy Star is better in my view. The remake is too linear and I dont like the excess grind.

Same with PS2.
