Guess what? I've peeved off.<p>I'm peeved off because my Character file on PSOIII became corrupt today, so I had to delete it and start over. :@ <p>Has anybody got any advice on how to avoid this issue in future? The memory card I've used is the Official Nintendo one that stores 251 memory blocks. I don't know what it is...but I may be able to help you figure out what it isn't...did you shut off the GC/pull out the Memory Card while saving or loading? Did you damage the MC in any way? Are any other files damaged/missing? If all of these are no, then you probably don't have a Memory Card issue. If you said yes to any of them, then that was/is the issue.

Didnt know it could happen offline I believe I was already told it could happen offline but I forgot how...

...perhaps...well there was this one time that a situation like that happened to me, but that was wit a lv 1 char. did you kick it accidentally? Also, one of my memory cards didn't work one time, I called the service and they said it was because that one was a new one and wasn't reliable or something. Is that why? Maybe your disc is scratched, the lasers gone bad, or the gamecube has been corrupted or such. any of those? I remember my cousin kicked the gamecube and something got deleted...

I get Third Party memory cards, controllers, etc. Mainly from Mad Katz. They put out the best stuff, like a 1024 block GC memory card that I got for my brother for $10.

Third-party memory cards for GameCube suck.<p>Nintendo's memory cards are more expensive than third-parties', but you don't pay for the brand. Nintendo uses better memory banks in their cards.

Yeah. Third party memory cards in general should never be trusted, but GC ones....Well, you might as well try to save your game onto a jam sandwich.

I've had it when the game told me I had to format the memory card, but instead I just reset the game.<p>But corrupted offline? That's painful.<p>Is this common at all?

Corruption offline is very uncommon.

I've had to restart my whole memcard becuase the Gamecube tells me it has to be formatted... But if you get thatmessage, check if it's all the way inside the slot, cuz that's a normal problem people have, memcard wants to format, bladibla, and when they do it, it still won't work because it was'nt really formatted and then it needs to be formatted because of that so be careful. If checking that won't work, try taking out the memcard and blow the end that you plug in... I've saved my chars hide many a time with this method, WAY back to the old NES games... I don't think i have much more on this, and good luck rebuilding!
