Somebody, please tell me all that I need to know about the 56K Modem and going online. I need to know basic setup, price range, the pros and cons of a 56K modem (even though I cannot use a BBA) and anything else. Also, I need to know about going online. All the details, like the servers that are the best to go on, which servers to stay away from, how to setup...etc. Include all the details...explain it as if you were talking to a 4 year old. I've never really played any online games, so I'd appreciate anything you have to say.

Well lets see, the modem can rage from $25-35, it hooks into the large expansion port under the cube. u enter your ISP info, ISP Username Pass DialUp #s Ect..., into the PSO webbrowser. from there it saves to your memory card, then u use the webbrowser or ur pc browser to go to the Hunter's Licence SignUp page, from there u make a Sega account username, add your PSO Serial&Key #s along with Billing info. then when u go Online with PSO the 1st time it will ask u to enter ur PSO Serial&Key #s and make a Password, it will then ask u if u wanna Save them to your memory card. from there u'll be online, u pick a server, anyone seams ok, and now your playing online.

Ok...but if you've got only one phone line (only one number) can you go on the internet while you're on PSO (I'd assume that it's just like opening another browser window, but I'm not sure). Or does it tie up your internet connection just like your internet connection ties up your phone?

Yeah, setup is really simple for a modem.<br>Just enter your username, password, and ISP phone number. You should have gotten all that when you signed up for your account.<br>The rest is self-explanatory... And ZioTheHoly did a good job at explaining it. But I recommend signing up for your Hunter's License on your GameCube.<p>Though for servers... <br>Do NOT, EVER, go to Vega. It's running rampant with cheaters, assholes, SPAMmers, etc. Avoid it at all costs.<br>Antares 8 is the official block for PSO World, and is often quite busy. There tends to be SPAMmers there too. It's best not to go there unless you have to.<p>Now, places that are recommended...<br>Alphard 10 is the official Italian lobby. You'll most likely find SheWren there, even though she says that the last time the amount of cheaters are growing. She recommends not to go there (unless you're meeting her ).<br>Arcturus 7 and Altair 7 are the blocks of the legit group Intrinity. Good people in general. Altair is a good ship in general too.<br>Spica 1 is home to my newest friends. It's the block of the group of Dutch players, but they speak English, too (actually, most of the time ).<p>There you go.

Ehhh...being that I have only one phone line, it may not be plausible for me to get the Modem. You see, there is high demand for the use of my computer <b>and</b> the phone. So it may not go over too well...and I may not get too much use out of going online, simply because of above reasons. Also, getting another phone line is not an option, because I live outside of town and another line would cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars...they'd have to dig another one, you see.

The BBA is a modem. %) 56K Modem for Dial-Up and Broad Band Adapter for High Speed.<br>I <i>think</i> thats right.

Well crap. Seems if I want one i'm going to have to order it.
