You all know my powerful Hunter Neo. Somthing terrible happened today. I learned that you can lose your unequipped items if the game doesn't save properly. Well, Neo has taken quite the blow, losing:<p>Red Handgun +65<br>Chain Sawd +15<br>L&K Combats +20 (25% Hit)<p>Jherm if you see this, I ask you to find me a Chain Sawd, I'll repay the favor somehow. Meanwhile I will be looking for a Pal Rappy to get my Red Handgun back. But the Combats...I don't know if I'll see those again...25% hit...

I think i have an extra LK, i dunno i'll have to check. The cahin sawd and red gun aren't really that good to me. There is better.

How did you not save properly? Did you shut it off while saving? This is troubling...<p>Stay legit, Neo. It's the only way. I'd say that I'd give you something to help you out, but you can't use a Guilty Light or an Elysion (I'll give someone one sometime), or any of the good Force weapons I have (neither can I). That and I'm not online yet.

There should be a full online guide for PSO on this site... We forgot to inform Neo about this. <p>When online, only your equipped items are saved. All your unequipped items are saved back when you quit. This was done to prevent duping.<p>Now, as to how it can happen... If somehow your console gets shut down because your mom pulls the plug, or if someone presses the POWER button, or if the electricity goes down.<br>There's also FSOD. Frozen Screen Of Death. Meaning... the game freezes, blocks and you can't continue. There's a chance that you can still quit the game normally if it will still detect your cable being unplugged after you do so.

That sucks...but better then more duping. Of course, any time you go online you risk something...what, with the M code (perhaps) coming, and some really talented hackers.<p>Of course, it can be fun just trying to get those weapons back...or it may force you to change the way you play (different arsenal of weapons).

Uh, Benoit? Will you lose all your unequipped items, or is it just weapons? will you keep them if you put them in the bank? Maybe you can be more clear...

From now on I will keep them in the bank when I exit a game. Hope has come back, I have found my trusty Red Handgun (good finisher or trap extinguisher). I tekked it to 10% to dark so thats good. Jherm noted me today of an extra Chain Sawd he will lend me. But how will I get those Combats back. I need the hit percent on them and the 10 to luck is very effective with this 9 hit weapon. Please, I will trade my guts out for one of these with hit percent (min. 25%).<p>As for legit, I figure I will be limited to what I can do for a while, until then I'll just battle it out in the caves.<br><p>[size=small][Edit by Neo48 on [TIME]1082512133[/TIME]][/size]

When in offline singleplayer mode, you don't lose anything.<br>When in offline multiplayer mode, if you cannot save properly you lose EVERYTHING both in your inventory and in the bank.<br>When you play online, if you don't quit properly or the game freezes, you usually lose all the non-equipped items in your inventory...when a FSOD occurs, the only solution is turn the GC off.<br>FSOD is when the gamecube freeezes and a continous noise is heard...it's like when windows freeezes and you cannot enter any command. If that occurs while saving, it become FSODX...meaning file corruption and, in most cases, loosing your character.<br>Pulling the net cable out can be useful only when you experience a tremendous lag: the connection times out and the game saves...but not always. I usually reset the game those times; by pressing the reset button online, the gamecube saves data in the memory card.<br>But when you have real FSOD, only the power button works...you cannot reset the game either.<p>There are some method to try to save the corrupted characters...before formatting the data.

I'm grateful I didn't lose my characters. I didn't know about the offline problem! i've done lots of offline multiplayer and haven't expirienced that.

Siren, you lose your items and unequipped weapons/armor/Mags/units. Basically, unequipped stuff. Only what you had equipped remains. Everything that's it the bank isn't affected.<p>If you get disconnected by lag or something else, it always saves, and you don't lose control of your game. You can choose Quit Game like normally.<p>It's always better to try pulling the cable when the game seems frozen. Sometimes the game isn't entirely frozen and will detect a disconnect. Sometimes not.<p>It seems like the game freezes sometimes when you are still selecting a ship or block after having connected. To prevent this from causing FSODX, don't go past the welcome screen before it's done saving. That way, if the game freezes, you only get FSOD.<p>I forgot to mention that when you get FSOD, you don't always lose your unequipped items. The last time I got FSOD, which was a couple days ago, I didn't lose anything. Good thing, because I had a second Mag that I was feeding, unequipped. Out of the the three times I've had FSOD, only one time I lost stuff (just items).

Well it just happened two more times today! Geese! Didn't lose anything though...except items.
