Programmed, yes. But does that mean they have no personality? Perhaps they do not. Maybe that's an aspect of their programming.

Elenor. Actually, Androids where produced to complete tasks for humans. Saligun was a nurse, Hyze was a singer. However, they where modified to be combat versions of themselve on the Pioneer mission.
