How do i import characters from PSO1 to PSOv2 DC

I just got PSOv2 and went to play it and thought i'll import my character from v1, which i thought you could do, but when i try to continue it says the file is damaged, its probably a simple process, but i'm a dumbass!

Your file is damaged? Well maybe it's corrupted??

Try to play your character again on the original PSO. See if that works. Then try again on PSO Ver.2

It works fine on PSO, and it happens with the three characters i have made in PSO

That's strange... You imported your PSO Ver.2 or something?

Nah, it's the pal version, otherwise i don't think i'd be able to play it

Is your disc scratched?

Nah the disc is smooth as a baby's backside, doesn't matter anymore, started a new game with a force and its heaps better than a ranger or hunter, i'm flying through the game.
