steam is not likely to bust, however there is an offline option that allows you to play your games without connecting to the net.

I started playing Breath of Fire (GBA) days back. It plays smoothly, but as not much is actually happening story-wise, it feels empty at times.

Played with two friends a bit of Streets of Rage, more Golden Axe (we were laughing a lot) and tons of Altered Beast (maniacal laughter) on the PS3... Then played Street Fighter 4, BlazBlue, then more Altered Beast... The bout of laughter came back.

"Gwise fwom youw gwave"

"Welcome to youw duuuuuuuuuum!!"

We laughed at the character turning into a werewolf ("look! he's a furry now!!") and then the second player turning into a GREEN werewolf... WHY GREEN!? It could have been gray, black, white... But green?

We had a nice laugh.

Hee! That game wins only for the nostalgic factor for me. Which beast was it that had the special attack that went up and down rather than left-right? The tiger-thingy? That was mostly useless.

I'm playing ToeJam & Earl. :) "Doot, doot, doot, do-do-do-do...."

Earlier I was playing Sonic, but Labyrinth Zone 2 was kicking my butt and my kids kept giving me helpful advice such as: "Mom, you have to avoid those spears." Yeah, thanks. I'll remember that. It was getting frustrating. The Labyrinth Zone music belies its difficulty, too. It's so freaking chipper!

Oh man. I love TJ and E!
I cannot even count the times I played it trough. It's just so awesome!
Main reason for so good replayability is propably the random world option.
I am NaN!

I like TJ&E for the Bogeyman levels towards the end. Those are MURDER to get through. And the Random World option is definitely great for replay.

It also has one of the best endings of any game ever, because you can explore Funkotron.

I just ripped myself from my PSP. Finished Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker a few days (?) ago, and I have to say, it's definitely the BEST PSP game I have ever touched. Yes, even better than Phantasy Star Portable 2, and Valkyria Chronicles 2 (which I haven't finished).

Peace Walker is also probably one of the best Metal Gear games ever made because of its excellent replay value (this one is DEEP in gameplay), music, story (very emotional and exciting) and the MASSIVE amount of extra missions. PSp2 actually pales in comparison. Most of the stages are completely different, which is a plus against PSp2 and the AI is sometimes difficult to outsmart. The bosses are especially difficult, although not difficult to outmaneuver. Still, since all bosses are machines accompanied by a 4 men unit, it gets difficult very quickly. The best thing is, however, that this game rewards you heavily for not killing enemies (a characteristic of Metal Gear) and saving prisoners to add to your growing army.

This game is massive.

I would appreciate some details on the Monster Hunter missions. I hear you can hunt a Lagicarius!

Well, I have unlocked only the first (not really given it much time to be honest), against a flying dragon (forgot the name, sorry) that is accompanied by four blue, velociraptor like enemies. The big dragon reminds me of PSU's De Ragan, only faster, way more aggressive and on steroids, not to mention smaller.

It IS freakishly cool.

Another thing is that Big Boss talking to Trenya is hilarious. Trenya's voices are clearly taken from a cat and hearing David Hayter start saying "Meow! Meow meow meow? Meooowwwww" in Snake's voice really cracked me up. I think that I might like those games, only going for what I have seen. I'll look for them the next time I go out to buy used games.
