We have spyware on this computer.. it really stinks.<p>A lot of sites we try to go to, are broken sites. These broken sites lead to the same webpage. Some stupid random search engine. They give me the same ads at almost every website I go to, for the same thing. Spyware. Does anyone know of any anti-spyware sites or software I can get? Thanks.<br>

I have something called Spy Sweeper. It does a pretty good job at getting rid of spyware. I dont know much about it but I havent had any issues with that kind of crap since my dad installed it.<br>It should also help with sites like that, some of them will automaticly change your home page to something, the Spy Sweeper will always ask you to confirm whether or not it will change.<br>Then there is Zone Alarm. Its not anti spyware its a firewall program I belive and that should help a bit too.

Im not sure if it can be downloaded off line or not my dad was the one who installed it. If it can I suggest doing so on a computer without spyware and save it onto a disk of some sort and put it on to the computer you are having problems with while it is disconnected from the internet. If it has to be bought then still put in on while the computer is not hooked up online<br>I say to do that because things just got worce when my dad tried while I was still conected.

Hmmm only one i know of is "PC pitstop" It tells you all the spywar files and you manually delete them, or so i think if memory serves

Ad-Aware? That's what I have. Very useful, I must say. A well written program!

I've also never had a problem with spyware, and thats because I use the wonderful Netscape 7.1 . But I do have X-Cleaner just incase.

I removed all the AOL junk, and I prefer Netscape to Mozilla, althought they are very similar, almost exactly the same actually.

Or you can forget about mozilla and just download google toolbar for IE.

I hate IE, you're always bombarded with spam, spyware and pop-ups, and if you don't want to be you have to download 3rd party applications. I also like Netscape better than IE because it has tabbed browsing, and reads HTML correctly.

I hated Spybot search and destroy..<p>I am red green color deficient and having GOOD stuff in green and bad stuff in red..<p>I couldn't use it ;.; <p>so I had to switch to Ad aware, at least Lavasoft understands that some people have color issues.
