This was spoiled to me unfortunately, I was thinking that maybe it happened to someone else. But how do you folks that have seen the final list feel about it?

I like the roster except for a few things:
-For the third time now, Metroid and F-Zero only get one character to represent their series. A little unfortunate I think.
-The cloning of movesets once again between the same characters as before. (Including Wolf O' Donnel's uncreative Final Smash being a Landmaster Tank...where would he get one in the first place?)

I also would have preffered a Mask's Young Link (changes between Zora, Goron, Deku...perhaps like Pokemon Trainer) instead of Toon Link, but I'm sure many people will prefer Toon Link.

I was happy that Wolf is in the game, but choked that his final smash is a Landmaster. That doesn't even make sense. Now, having him blast through on Wolfen would be cool, but I guess that's not going to happen.
I would've liked more representation from Metroid and F-Zero, too. We don't need Jigglypuff for the third time. We need Ridely (though as a boss is cool), or Fusion Suit Samus, or SA-X, and we need something like Samurai Goro or Pico.
As for toon Link, it's like Young Link except even lamer. How about wolf Link with Midna on his back? What about a mask Link, like you said, Neo? They could've went so many different ways with that, but it feels to me like they copped out.
I'm a little choked with this roster, actually. We do not need the Ice Climbers, end of story.

Um, there's regular Samus and Zero Suit Samus, so that's two characters for Metroid.

I dislike you people saying Toon Link. It's Wink Waker Link. This "WW iz kiddey" crap is old.

Personally, I didn't want the Ice Climbers back either, but I like Jigglypuff.

After Sakurai said that they weren't going to have clones, I'm disappointed that Ganondorf didn't get a unique moveset. In fact, it seems like none of the clones went away, and Lucas is a clone of Ness. You could just as well play SSB: Melee if there isn't a new character that you really want to play as.

But Samus and Zero Suit Samus are the same character-- Samus' final smash turns her into Zero Suit Samus after. That's not two different characters, that's just a Shiek/Zelda type deal.

As far as calling him Toon Link goes, check the screenshots of the character select screen. His name is "Toon Link".

However, there's an interesting side to having Toon Link in the game. I mean, honestly, who among us hasn't wanted to beat the shit out of Toon Link at one time or another? I know that whenever I'm in practice mode, it's Toon Link that I'll be beating on.

I too was hoping to get rid of clones, but I guess that's not realistic. Honestly... Gannondorf needs a new moveset, not just a new appearance (albeit a totally badass Twilight Princess appearance).

Another thing. Doctor Robotnik. If you have Sonic, why not Robotnik? I'd rather play as Robotnik than Jigglypuff.

The only things that really impresses me about the new game is the music (AAA composers and musicians) and the stages, which are far beyond those of Melee and are incredibly creative. The single player mode is cool, and some of the new characters are cool, but the new music and stages are what make me want to buy the game.

I'm happy there is WiFi (even if it is restricted). I'll be able to play my friend in Vancouver.

Samus and Zero-Suit are worse, because it is a forced change after you get the final smash, unless you avoid the Smash ball, you have to become proficient with both of them. To add to Laconian's list are the bounty hunters from Metroid Prime 3.

Plus, Ganondorfs moveset would work really well for Black Bull from F-Zero (if we had to have clones still).

I guess the missing arguement is of a forced change. Either get good with one and avoid Smash Balls, or be proficient with either. Its unfortunate because the Final Smashes look very exciting.

Although, this will be enjoyable for some. I am only against it because of my SSBB history. I became exceedingly proficient with one character far more than the others, that just happened to be Samus. However, I wont get into that.

So yes, they are two different characters that you must be proficient with if you are into the Final Smash idea. A negative and a positive in my eye. Still would have preffered Ridley or Rundle
