Yahoo! closes GeoCities service

Reposting part of lost thread, as the closure is nearing:

I've received an e-mail message with the date: 26 October 2009.

It's pretty insignificant today, but back in the nineties, GeoCities was important. It meant that anyone could create a web page and upload it onto the World Wide Web for all to see. Many web pages were created this way. Some were useless. Some were silly. Others were useful resources of knowledge on a certain topic.

So, in effect, it's a piece of web history that is being shut down here.

We will miss you, GeoCities.

It looks like DamageX has a newer site than the one on GeoCities that has a more recent version of Phantasy Star TG.

Care to zip this (unrelated) site too?

you don't need a program. IE allows you to save an entire website onto your pc. just goto file, save as, change it from web archive (single file) to web archive complete.

Who says I use or have IE installed? ;)
I'll try to backup with Konqueror...

EDIT:
Didn't worked as I don't have a proper plugin. Current plugin is marked as unstable. If someone could save that site I would appreciate that.

I don't use a program. I save all of it manually. That way I'm sure nothing is changed in the process, and that I get everything.

It looks like GeoCities went down 5 minutes ago, as now every link leads to "Service Temporarily Unavailable". I've got most of it, though.
