N900, the new N-series flagship from Nokia. It has Maemo 5 running inside it.
I already would like to say goodbye to Android and all other mobile OSes because this is totally made for me. Only thing that's bothering me is that the keyboard has only three rows.
What might be also interesting is that it is highly likely someone will port emulators for this device. The keyboard isn't very good for playing platformers or games that require good reflexes. But for turn based RPGs it would be good enough.

I heard of the series, but not that it was from Nokia. The main developer of aMSN, KaKaRoTo, seems happy with his. He was chatting on IRC with it yesterday.

I'm really thinking of buying this phone, but I'll wait if the price goes down. I just spent 300 euros to furniture. So no N900 just yet.

I'm really happy now that Nokia decided to bring this Maemo device for us.
You don't have to hack it to gain root access. And what's best - Nokia isn't against it.

This is totally worth of all the money I spent on this. Only thing this is missing is USB-host port. It would be nice to attach usb devices into this. Like transfer pictures from camera and put them on gallery online.

To get remote ssh working, you need to isntall ssh-client. I put maemo.org reposity on my N900 and installed ssh-clientt from it. I already can run updates on my home server remotely and all other things you can do on Linux terminal.
I think I'll install vnc client next and try to get graphical remote connection up to my home laptop.

Resistive screen may be a drawback for some but it's very responsive and presence of physical keyboard forgives resistive screen.

Then there's the camera. It's good as long as you have some light. So it's pretty much what you'd expect maybe even little better. The LED flash isn't as good as normal but a d*mn good LED one. It's bright.

Keyboard is good. Although it could have one more row. After N70 this feels very comfortable.

The device itself feels very durable/tough, which is quite rare from Nokia.

Maemo interface feels very user-friendly. Better than confusing Symbian.
Manual had only few pages to quide you how to install battery and SIM-card + memory card. There is preinstalled guide if you need any help. I didn't needed as the interface feels so logical.

Other nice features:

• FM radio tranmitter
• Photo geotagging.
• 32GB internal memory (27GB reserved for user files)
• GPS positioning
• Touch screen pen for accurate use.

So. Vacation has ended and I've installed some emulators.
So far I've only played SMS games: Astro Warrior and Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Keyboard is even better than I thought. I really got these games going. I learned to move pretty accurately with about only 5 minutes of practicing. So I guess it's even more enjoyable to play RPGs (Classic PS series and classic SF series!!!).

I tried to do screencast, but, I will need a power kernel upgrade to be able to overclock the system (which isn't as complicated as it may sound --> just install kernel upgrade from package manager and boot).
