What games are you playing at the moment?

Playing Valis I and II in the PS3 and PSP. I never got a PC Engine (Known as Turbgrafx 16 and Turbo CD in the continent called America), so I never got the original run of these games. Also, when Telenet, the company that made them went under, the IPs they had fell into oblivion until Sunsoft, in a stroke of genius decided to buy them. So far Valis II, the first game in the series (1989) and the remake of Valis I (1992) have come out on the Japanese PSN. I snagged both of them and have been enjoying these two beauties at my complete leisure.

Valis I is graphically and mehanically beautiful for the time it came out. The quality in the music is also great. Valis II looks a LOT more dated and 8-bitish, which is easily explained, since it is a first generation PC Engine game. The gameplay reminds me a lot of Megaman 2, which is not bad at all. The music, is very nice for the most part. The cinemas these two games have remind me a lot of the style used in the classic Ninja Gaiden series.

I still have some money left for one or two games in my JP account, but I'm saving it for when Valis III finally comes out. If it costs 800 Yen, I'll grab it and maybe a DLC mission for Valkyria 3 or possibly Langrisser 4 & 5: Final Edition. I just can't get enough of strategy games.

Currently playing Ys Seven and the Ys I & II Chronicles on my PSP. I want Falcom to release their version of Ys IV since they've never made the versions themselves. Dawn of Ys is the best Ys IV even though it isn't canonical.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. I like the 8-bit style mini-games, they really add some gameplay variety, and some of them are kinda funny. Also, I actually like the exclusion of a large map...it didn't serve too much of a purpose in the first NMH. It was cool, but didn't seem necessary. They cut it out of NMH2 and I think it's better for it.

I'm playing Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon (DS) and a slew of Mega Drive games.

Rune Factory is addicting! Plant seeds, water them, clear the field of weeds and branches... Then visit caves where you fight monsters and can do more farming! Finally, improve your relationship with the townsfolk, including cute girls. ^_^

Nostalgia struck me, so I started playing Dragon Warrior II. This'll be my quick fix until I get my mitts on a copy of DQ6. =3 Been looking forward to that for quite a while now, haha.

It turns out that my cartridge of Wonder Boy in Monster World does work, so I've played that all afternoon. It's a simple but charming action adventure with no pretenses. I guess some could argue that it's too simple, but I like it.

I hope the battery still works.

I am absolutely addicted on Gran Turismo 5 right now. Decent graphics, over 1,000 cars, and lots of realism make my first PS3 game an absolute blast for me. Heck, you can even do this if you want to!

I gave Dreamer access to the ys games on the psp. Hopefully she'll like 'em. I know she's a bit short on cash right now but the free games are a nice gesture, methinks.
