Weee! I just got back from a statewide (Ohio), C++ competition and got an 889/1000 on it!. I now get to go to California for free for 5 days and see DisneyLand, and San Diego zoo! Sorry just thought I'd brag....self taught, and beat out 20 kids who took classes on it....I think I'm allowed <p>The test was multiple choice, and program design...had to make a program that read a file off disk, and processed, sorted, and did some calculations with that data!<p>I saw some code, was icky ...no functions!!! Just a massive <br>int main()<br>{<br>}<p>Got to use a 5000$ laptop.....mmmm <p>/endbrag

Eh.. What a simple program type to have in a contest..<p>How sad..<p>But Congratulations! ^^

Yeah it was a little more complex then it sounds actually haha..but still....trivial if you ask me...<p>The comical part was, the kids were all flipping out and paging through their class notes, and their big C++ manual things..I cracked mine open one time....and they were dressed all...groomed and whatnot, .....i strutted in looking like this (This is me ...normal day....)<br><br>And, w/ the lady---semi normal going to a dance...<br><br>So theres me looking all, ....yeah., and them sitting in slick corporate suits with neat posture.....im sitting contorted and horrid posture typing and crap, fired this program out in no time and turned it in then left, ...the panic stricken faces as I walked out were priceless...........oh god...and then I dawdle on stage for awards and I found out im going to nationals, ...what do I do? bend over to tie my shoe on stage lol..then stopped to pick up a quarted on the way off stage, it was pretty comical all around...<br><p>[size=small][Edit by Arkhan on [TIME]1111205547[/TIME]][/size]

I have to say this and please don't hurt me in the first picture you look like Mj(micheal Jackson) and in the second you look exacelly like spike speagel not saying that in a bad way actually its rather awsome and congrats on your winnings hope you have a joice time.

Etra, I thought the same thing of the first pic. Just the gloves and black and white clothing, I suppose. The second pic is cool, though, Arkhan. <br>Anyway, I think I would look good in a nice suit. Seems to fit my style.

Hahah the first pic is me singing in my friends band on halloween, the 2nd pic is me in thrift store dress clothes, ...lol. I still look rad...actually the pants are stretch jeans, but the rest = about 3.75$ plus tax hahah.

By the way, I just found out Algol is the abreviation for "Algorithmic Language", some programing language of which I am totally ignorant.

Congrats on the score, how many competitors were there? I never do well on my C tests, I'm better in the actually programming then the testing.<p>Sounds kinda like an experience I had, I went to the Halton (local region, still kinda big though) Skill Competition early last year for web design (all self taught as well, nothing beats self taugh ) and I came in second to a friend of mine in the same class. Of course we got nothing for this, it was just a fun experience.

Well, kudos Arkhan. I myself am no wizard in programming, as I usually have my cousin do anything I need done that exceeds my rudimentary skills. Hats off, mate.
