I still actively play it. I always find it amusing when people bash it, especially Phantasy Star fans, primarily because their reasoning for hating it seems to selectively not apply to the original Phantasy Star games, or some other related example.

Tried it for 2 days before World of Warcraft came out, now I'm hooked on WoW. Before that, EQ for 4 years.

FFXI sucks, Music is crap, the world is to large for ahving any fun in, the class system is worse then everquests grinding, the gameplay sucks, the races are to few and not at all interesting, not enough diversity between characters apearnces either.Overall its just a bad game... and I was so hopeful to I played it over a month then gave up...

congratulations, you have to get to a high level to have fun! one month will get you nowhere. its really not bad.

It Takes forever to get anything done, Gil is hard as &#*$^*&$^ to get, and it takes forever to walk from point A to point B. Everyone looks the same...the crafting is junk.....THe job system would be flawless if it werent for the horrible level grind of that game. It's terrible...250xp per kill if you know what youre doing.The worst part of the game is the necessity of being in a party. You HAVE to be partied to level up most of the time, unless you want it to take even longer...and sometimes you have to rely on uber high level people to help you do quests etc....stupid.The best part of that game is from level 1.....up until you hit the dunes. its all about West Ronfaure, after that its all downhill

Heres a faster breakdown of the gameLevel up Buy Gear Repeat for a bit Move to new zone Level up Buy Gear Repeat for a bit Change job Repeat.Thats more or less the entire game. It has REALLYYYY neat towns though.. Jeuno is awesome.
