If your Xbox is modded (like mine) than all you need is a patch and the offline game works great. Plus if it's modded you can replace music files, play as Sonic and Tails (and Knuckles, and Cloak Guy), and just generally have more fun than you should. Don't use it to cheat though, that's just wrong. Especially online.

You're better off with the GameCube version, because then when you get online you'll have many people to play with (unlike XBox version), and you'll be able to get PSO: Episode III. ;)
How about buying a new GameCube for $99? Pretty cheap. ;)

well Benoit got it right $99 is cheap. If you dont want to mod ur Xbox and still want to play offline you can try to find a friend who will let you copy their Gamertag file from their HD. If you copy the file to your Xbox HD you will be able to play PSO. you will need a Mem card and the four button security code from your friend. This is a bit dodgy but I have used this method to play PSO at my Girlfriends place before.

Outside of the sugeestions the other people made. You have to at least go online once to play PSO on XBOX after that you can play offline provided you keep your gamertag info on the XBOX. I have been playing offline with no XBOX live for about a year now because I moved . Sadly, the online community was not that great and don't think many of them really knew how great the game was/is. A lot of guys did not have the patience to level up a character and some people were dirt bags, disrespectful and doing bad trades by not using trade windows. I saw a guy give away his Final Impact only to recieve a monomate in return, dirty.....

LOL, that way of trading sounds like the Dreamcast days, when we didn't have a Trade Window.

Oh the dreamcast! Playing PSO on DC was like walking into a den of thieves! Instant deaths causing you to drop your weapon where you fell only to have some imp pick it up. Yes Benoit, I remember on the dreamcast, you had to trade things like cave men "I drop box then you drop, grunt"
Hey Benoit, I'll felt stupid about the "red boxes" and edited my post. %)
Firm correction creates character.
[Edit by ACL on [TIME]1092280484[/TIME]]
